sportsbooks overreacting to the injury... some people apparently made a fortune yesterday live-betting by getting on serena at huge odds.

-330??

:monsters-

Henin's career Grand Slam bid seems to be falling into place nicely-- she's in absolute top form. She, by her own admission, is becomig more and more comfortable on grass 'in tight situations'. Centre Court is slower and more bounce, ideal for her. Gone is Amelie, Maria nursing sore shoulder, Venus looks dreadfull, Serena possibly injured and not in top form. NOW OR NEVER JUSTINE.

this line smells

Call me a square, but I just can't see Serena being competitive, unless she was seriously embellishing her injury. I went out to the courts after watching her writhe around on the grass and cramped in exactly the same calf. Though it was not nearly as serious, I could barely keep up with the hacker I was hitting with. I could not bend correctly and this threw my stroke off terribly. Maybe she is healed by now, or perhaps it looked worse than it really was. She has done some acting. Was pretty good in a Law & Order, I think. Hmmm...

Still, this is Justine's time and her Wimby to win. I used her with the Red Sox, who won, so I'm alive at -108. I also parlayed Henin/Sha -130. Sad to fade both sisters, but they just do not play enough to survive at this level vs. the top seeds. I know that they have surprised in the past after limited activity and I admire their ability to turn it on, but they have not shown the same form this week.

what books offer live betting on tennis...............thanks!
Many bookies but the biggest return is on Betfair, where players are playing against each others and company taking "only" the comission, practically B has a monopoly on this, what a bisnes :hump:

About Serena. Hantuchova deserved to win their latest match imo. It is always in the women that the injured player wins the match, grazy. It is sure that Serena hurted herself but no way as badly as it looked or how she made it look. It definately was not so bad then but the next morning might have been a different story when your leg no more was warm or adrenaline no more in your blood. Anyway even the courts are slower this match would have been much more equal in the odds and maby I would have gone the for Henin because of the slower courts and form but now there is too much questions. Thinking about taking Serena in live and if she can start well the odds will become fastly more equal what would be good time to jump out of the match and if she retires in the first set there is no money lost. I have a feeling she is ok because why would she risk herself playing against one of the hardest possible opponent. In her career from 2000 Serena has so far gave up five matches without starting the match when she likely has injured in the previous round. The matches she has started, no information if she has been injured before the match or no, is six and in two she has retired in the first set.

Good luck for Serena but she deserves to lose imo.

Henin looked shoddy in Eastbourne final vs Maurlesbo. Sernea won 0 and 1 2 rounds ago, Serena fought off an opening bagel vs Henin in Miami. Serena playing possum here, I dont think injury is an issue, cuz its not an injury its a cramp, like if you had a stomach ache, it goes away. Serena can hit big returns and big serves and win easy here possibly. now +300 I will play.

Also like Soderling +180, he is in rafas head.

Bartoli -145

MArion best work ethic on tour.

Great odds on Serena. Took her at 4.2 at Betfair. Also took Venus at 3.65. The odds were way too high.

Don't like Serena here at all. But then again, I haven't been right all tournament.

Serena takes the set...

Her movement has been fine for the most part. Some poor errors, and bad decisions by going to Henin's backhand, but it's been a very cose match.

Thx,
West Coast has Wimbledon on two channels. One, NBC, is about to show Venus-Masha, the other, ESPN2, has Doug Gottlieb on talking about Tiger Woods.
