Casinos are the worst when it comes to raping people with ATM fees. If you really need to use it at the casino, don't be surprised to get dinged $5 for a w/d

(not that it's the end of the world, but it's still a screw job)

That is like a $5 insurance fee. I don't want to carry much cash on me.

If your close to a bank(while at the casino) use their atm. Big savings. Did that once at Palms(bank right across street). Has to be downtown bank near Fremon Ex without going to far.

There is, but you better walk the right way. If you go South from the Nugget you are going to be in a halfway safe area and there is a couple of banks in that general direction. If you walk North you might get robbed, if you walk West, well you will be disgusted by the Plaza and realize you can't go any further, if you walk East you might get robbed, but definitely will get harrassed.

Don't even bother looking for a bank on the Strip, there aren't any and its quite a long walk through unsafe areas to get to one.

use your smarts and you will be fine. also, if you are a decent size guy, you shouldnt have problems. i walked from the el cortez to treasue island at 11pm one night, no one bothered me.......although i wouldnt suggest it to the "weak kneed"

Jesus, here in Canada we are always shocked when we hear of places that we 'Cannot' walk at night.....

In Vegas I walked from the Stratosphere to the heart of the strip.... lol..... that is all the walking I did....

I guess the main strip is safe however....

Downtown is improving, but still not safe more than a few blocks from Fremont Street. The worst neighborhood in the area starts about half mile north of Downtown. The second worst neighborhood is probably a tie between "Naked City" right behind the Stratosphere and the area about half-mile to the East of mid-Strip, Venetian/Harrahs/Imperial Palace.

This town has pretty lousy crime statistics, of course inflated by all the tourists and money around. Still kind of scary the number of home invasion robberies and the violent crimes rate.

yeah you have to walk with your head up there , just be alert, lots of BUMS there to people that will beg... have a dollar in your pocket if just incase so you do not have to grab your wallet out if your going to give them ....I would not advise walking to far off the fremont street experience

just carry a "dummy wallet" and if worse comes to worse, throw it at them, with some expired Credit Cards, and a few bucks in it. common sense tells you, never carry large amounts of cash off the beaten path
