can the USA beat the Czech's in the opening game?

yes they can. the czech's back line may be a little to slow to deal with the stars and stripes speed. and keller can make almost any save. usa 2-0

Think they have a good shot. USA is well conditioned and this is the best team they have ever fielded. The Czech supposedly have some injuries to their starters.

However in saying that...the USA has always played horribly on European soil. Hope different year and different team breaks that trend.

USA will never ever beat the Czechs. The Czechs have too much power with Koller in the attack (he could easily be a basketball player - simply watch him), Rosicky (young midfielder), Nedved and some other stars. There is no chance for the USA to beat them. There is a small chance for a draw but winning - no way.

Big advantage for the European teams - for obvious reasons.
GL US, but getting out of that group will be unlikely IMO.

It has to add hope that a weak team from our group (just being honest here) can hold off a pretty good European team like that. Trini didn't win any challenging games in group play except beating Mexico at home when Mexico had nothing to play for. I thought they had no business being in the WC, but very happy they proved me stupid on that one.

Doubt we can beat the Czechs, Koller's aerial game will give our defenders fits and Cech is definitely one of the Top 3 keepers in the tournament.
