Can someone inform me about WSOP?

What is the buy in? Can anyone get in as long as they post up? How many seats are there? How do these guys qualify online? Thanks in advance for your knowledge sharing.

The buy-in is $10000. Anyone is able to enter and I don't believe they have a maximum amount of entries. You can attempt to win your way in by winning a satellite tourny. Several site have them for wsop. For example, ultimate bet has a satellite tourny that costs $100 to enter. For every 100 or so entries, they give out a wsop entry.

when u say 100 or so entries, you mean it's just random? if u win the tourney you're not automatically in?

In a satellite the number of entries is not known in advance, so neither is the prize pool. But if 750 people enter at $100 each, then the top 7 places will get a WSOP entry and the next couple of places will win cash totalling $5000. The poker site collects $75,000 (plus juice) in entry fees and pays out $75,000 in prizes.

Naturally the more expensive the satellite, the higher the percentage of qualifiers.

A friend of mine just called me and said his friend entered a satelite tourney at bar in Hartford last night, said there was no buy in and the winner advnces to the next round....(his friend came in 2nd and is an alternate)


does this sound right?
