Can Someone help me understand Barry Bonds comments about Babe Ruth

and the fact that Babe Ruth didn't have to play against Black Players.

I guess what I don't understand was he referring to the offensive players at the plate, the defensive players in the field or maybe the pitchers.

Since Barry is threatened by the Babe ,I guess he is refering to Babes HR total so that means the Babe didn't have to face Black pitchers back in that era.

Last time I looked, and I'm not stat geek, and I might be wrong , but Major league Pitchers overall from the beginning of Baseball until the present have been dominated by White Pitchers, not entirely, but a high % nonetheless.

So wouldn't you think that Babe was actually at a disadvantage being in a all white era during his time. Because thats who the Babe was actually competing against, the Pitcher and the White Pitcher has been the predominant Pitcher in all of Baseball history.

Just a thought, maybe I'm off base and its just a theory I have after a long day.
