I've never capped Hockey and would like to give it a try based on just statistics. Please don't tell me I can't because that won't stop me. d1g1t

I'm confused about the ATS records listed at Covers. If someone is knowledgeable please help me out here. Please don't guess...only answer if you know for sure.

When I look at the matchups page on Covers for instance...I see an ATS table for each team. I'm assuming they mean the ATS record for 1.5 lines?

Is that correct? Even though they don't even list 1.5 lines at Covers?

If so...can somebody explain why the ATS records for each team do not add up to the ATS breakdown amounts that they provide for each team?

These are probably dumb questions...but I have no experience with this at all and I need to get it right.

Here is an example of the Covers matchups ATS table I am talking about.

http://www.covers.com/pageLoader/pageLoader.aspx?page=/data/nhl/matchups/g2_atsoverall_7.html

What I notice at the above link is the overall ATS records for each team do not match the ATS break down records.

For instance Montreal is listed as an overall ATS of 11-19...but in the breakdowns of Montreal as a favorite and underdog the ATS records only add up to 9-17.

What am I missing?:think2:

How are overtimes handled? Auto loss?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :103631605

Yes, it appears to be accurate.

PHI is 4-13 ATS at 1.5. I know for certain they've only beaten -1.5 twice

And on Oct 22 and 25 they were ML dogs and covered at +1.5

Regardless, I find this form of "ATS" as not very practical since if you've got 5Dimes or other outlets which offer the Regulation Only wagering, the more useful information is "ATS vs 1/2goal"

I can add you to my email list for sending copies of my own inhouse NHL spreadsheet which details results for the 1.5 lines and also the .5 lines; as well as various breakdowns by scheduling roles etc

I send an updated copy out a couple times a week

Thanks...I'll pass on the spreadsheet for now but appreciate the offer.

After looking things over I'm going to concentrate only on unders.

I think I see something there that I can exploit...which of course, as a Republican...that would make me very happy. :103631605

Well, I think we all like to Exploit when the only victim is someone we are sure is getting by just fine, with or without us - in this case, The Man.

I will watch for your shared info with interest as we here in the ol' PucksPub appreciate all positive info related to increasing our Precious Unit.
