“I happen to be a proponent of a single payer universal health care program. I see no reason why the United States of America, the wealthiest country in the history of the world, spending 14 percent of its Gross National Product on health care cannot provide basic health insurance to everybody. And that’s what Jim is talking about when he says everybody in, nobody out. A single payer health care plan, a universal health care plan. And that’s what I’d like to see. But as all of you know, we may not get there immediately. Because first we have to take back the White House, we have to take back the Senate, and we have to take back the House.”

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

because despite the fact that the existing proposals will eventually funnel us into a single payer plan, and despite the fact that Obama has said he wants a single payer plan, he says he being misquoted.

so I'm asking, what do those words he chose to speak mean?

understanding liberals is like trying to understand a fucking chick, except the chick ain't lying.

I hate when people do this, pisses me off. I'm talking both left and right. Seriously, debate whats in the opening topic not some BS that happened many years ago that we can't change. We can stop Obamacare (thats if you like the free market), good luck trying to stop GWB and the Iraq War.

Come on now tartar

1) "read my lips, no new taxes". For that to be the equivalent of the point I'm trying to make, Bush 41 would have to say "he never raised your taxes" after he signed the bill. That was a broken promise, I'm not even going there. That debate would take decades and everybody is holding a losing hand.

BTW: that was a tax increase requested by Foley & Mitchell. Poppy gave the Democrats their tax increase, and they reciprocated by reneging on their promise to give him deficit reduction bills in return and they then turned around and used their tax increases against him.

2) "mission accomplished". Being wrong does not make you a liar.

now "your" speculating

BTW: do you have an interpretation for me? or are you simply acknowledging that he's lying today when he says he's being misinterpreted about wanting a "single payer system"?

I was wondering where Steakum was hiding for a while there. Hope all is well.

I respect that opinion.

Good and smart people can and do disagree, but when you can't be yourself and have to lie about what you want, I can't respect that.

Linda Douglass to the rescue….

“So what happens is that because he’s talking to the American people so much, there are people out there with a computer and a lot of free time, and they take a phrase here and there — they simply cherry-pick and put it together, and make it sound like he’s saying something that he didn’t really say.”

liberals do not have enough brains to carry a serious debate. They can only reflect on history and hope that somebody else takes care of business. They are very much "out of touch" with reality and real life. Most have never owned a business, they have just worked for the government, a big corp or someone else and drawn that check every week. "The Man" has held them back because he keeps the profit from the laborer's efforts. Nevermind the fact that the Man took the risk of ownership and all the responsibility that goes with it.

Fuck them all. I don't need the govt to take care of me or my family and i sure as hell dont need the govt to run another huge sector of our economy into the ground.

we are fucked until we get the public to realize that this fuck wants to destroy america.
