Okay.....let's see if we can get this contest back on track. Whether or not Mac is done with this contest, I don't see any reason why it should not continue. If Mac returns, then he can decide if he wants to include the Week 12 results from this thread into the overall contest or not (which he should).

And whether or not there is actually a prize awarded for the winner, I would have to think that the potential bragging rights for the winner and those that finish near the top are equal or greater to the cash prize. And even if you disagree, I think this contest is worth continuing just for competitive reasons alone and the simple desire to see who will eventually win.

Hell, someone should be figuring out a way to tail the top picks or something. That would probably be worth more than the cash price in no time. There's lots of reasons to want to continue this contest.



I took it upon myself to go back to Mac's origninal Week 10 thread and record, grade and tally each and every pick. I then added the points (one point for every win, two points for a lock of the week winner) to everyone's overall point total going into Week 10.

This week's lines will be posted shortly thereafter. I will use the most widely available numbers but (like Mac) will make sure every side and total has a hook to ensure no one gets a push.

All bets need to be in before Kickoff, and once a bet is in it is locked and Can NOT be changed for whatever reason. You MUST also INDICATE which bet is your Lock Of The Week. If it is not indicated than you will not have a Chance at the bonus point for any game.

QUICK REVIEW OF THE RULES


Every week, around Thursdays, I will be releasing a Point Spread and Total for each game. After that people have to make their picks based on the Numbers I give, No Buying Points, No First Half Spreads, No Teasers. All Spreads must be using the numbers that I give. The Number I will put up will be the most common spread across the board. The Rules are as simple as this, you need to Pick 4 Games. 3 Bets are all normal Bets but 1 Bet has to be your LOCK OF THE WEEK. The way I will be scoring this year is this, I will be using a point system Each Normal Bet is worth 1 point if you get it right, however the Lock Of The Week is worth 2 points. So the maximum number of points you can get throught out the week is 5 Points. You can use any combinations of Totals or Spreads based on whatever bets you think are the strongest.

1 Major Rule is this:
You are NOT allowed to switch your pick once you've made it. Even if you want to change it 1 minute later, so make sure you know what you are taking. This prevents people from changing their picks for strategy purposes or for injury purposes.

Another thing is if when you make the pick, you choose a team, but the wrong spread then your pick will Be the Team you picked, and the spread that I have given.

For Example:

Miami at Dallas -12

You type Dallas +12

Or you type Dallas -13

In both situations You are going to end up taking Dallas at -12.

To those saying "thanks" ~ you are very welcome. I missed being able to post in a competitive thread outside of my normal weekly thread. And I figured that a lot of you shared the same level of interest.

Thank you for the kind words and enthusiasm to continue the contest.

If there are no objections, I will be eliminating the names typed in RED on the leaderboard after this week. These are all people who did not post picks in Week 10 (and in some cases who have not posted picks on multiple weeks).

So please speak up if you are one of those people listed in RED on the leaderboard and if you wish to continue with the contest.

And for the names in BLUE on the leaderboard, I want to hear from you too. It appears that these people listed in BLUE were first time contributors to the contest submitting picks in Week 10. Seeing as this is an accumulative contest (i.e., points accumulate and we are now all the way into Week 12), do you wish to continue or have your points counted? It is my belief that these people just wished to share their picks that week but probably did not really intend to join or participate in the overall contest.

I would love to hear from all of these people so I can streamline the leaderboard by eliminating those that are no longer interested in continuing. It will make my job of recording, scoring and updating the leaderboard that much easier.

I'm boycotting. Last week I probably would have gone 4 for 4 as I crushed all my big plays, and I still think 2 points for the lock of the week is stupid. Plus, I probably won't win, lol.
