Not bashing, just curious. What happened to tax reform. Personally would rather see that dealt with before SS.

Or how about Medicare, which is in much worse shape than SS? Or immigration, everyone wants immigration reform. How about a realistic energy bill written by someone other than energy corporations. How about a trade bill? How about a jobs bill that will employ people at something other than a McJob paying McMinimum wage?

None of those things will payback the corporate interests that really run the U.S.

What kind of tax reform was Bush going to do? He wants to make the tax cuts permenent and do some stuff on the edges but I didn't know he was planning on anything major.

The Social Security is the toughest thing on his plate. He has to get it done now or else it will never get done: the 2006 elections will come into play a year from now and lame duck status will cost Bush his political capitol after that.

SG, I meant income tax reform. Thought he was hot on it at one point.

Judge,

Bush did talk about tax code overhaul in his state of the union address. Think they're going the usual appoint a commission route and see what happens. He's got quite an agenda which I give him props for. The only thing I see from the loonie left is Bush is a cokehead, Bush is a drunk, Halliburton is crooked etc. Never any ideas just b.s. and hate.

Send, I do admire his ambition, not sure what is achievable and what isn't. Hopefully he can do something about the deficiet. I would think that should be his first concern at this point. If he reforms tax code, that should help somewhat.

Btw, I equate the cokehead thing to Clinton's bj. Don't really care as long as things get done.

"Never any ideas just b.s. and hate."

I got an idea:

Why don't we pump billions upon billions of dollars into rebuilding Iraq, because everyone knows that SS, health care, tax reform, and other American issues can wait. An oil rich country must come first....

God I can't wait for record gasoline prices after rebuilding Iraq.....
