On the major theme of bushs presidency, the supposedly preemptive Iraq war, the Pope was adamantly opposed. I don't think the Pope much cared for bush personally either.
And bush showed no such need to attend the Holocaust memorial sending Cheney in his stead.
Also, as I said, if bush is true to his version of Christianity he believes the Pope will burn in hell. This all adds up to the unending hypocrisy that defines republicans.

How exactly is pointing out an irony being partisan, xp?

If I say "wow...how strange that the Chiefs drafted Larry Johnson when they already had Priest Holmes in his prime"...does that instantly make me a K.C. hater?

I suppose you're right though. There's no difference between saying "you were wrong" and "let's do anything and everything we can to trash this guy..."

My mistake.

And cussin...what exactly is W 'AWOL' from?

Why is Rice attending? And Bush tells Carter to shove it?

when I look at Pamela Anderson and see her tits, the name George Bush comes to mind as both are fake

Send Powell over ... he is a man I can respect and sorry he ended up being the scapegoat for this Mafia style administration

Can you find one post in here to support your assertion?

I dunno....maybe the subject of the thread for starters? Would you put it past Doc Mujahideen to doubt that Bush would attend the Pope's funeral?

Doc isn't the only one though. Scroll down one post, and you'll see Jinn saying that W is only doing this to gain "points" (not sure how that hypothesis was formed considering that plenty of people in this country dislike Catholics).

I wasn't playing partisan. My message was that the left, who wants to suppress religion as much as possible, suddenly caring whether or not Bush goes to the Pope's funeral was amusing.

Well, here's how that hypothesis was formed; On St. Pats day we all become a little Irish. When the head of the Roman Catholic Church passes we all become a little Catholic. Anyway it all falls under the big banner of RELIGION and if bush thinks he'll gain in the Catholic community he'll take a chance on upsetting a few wingnuts. After all he'd have to do something really, really bad to alienate them. Maybe start an unprovoked conflict and kill thousands of innocent people, oh wait....never mind.

You're being very disingenuous, JD.

You said that the 'left' was up in arms because Bush was not going to attend the Pope's funeral, when in fact there is not one post in this thread indicating that anyone thought that Bush was not attending. Not one single one.

You made that assessment of your own accord to villify those that you argue with. And that is all. Your OP had no mention or implication of irony, though your backpedalling is riddled with it.

And, peaches, if saying that the left is 'as anti-religion as die-hard communists' doesn't qualify for stereotyping and partisanship, then perhaps you could provide me a more adequate example of what does?

He who throws stones ...
