Risking the wrath of the powerful voting bloc of the Major League Baseball Union, the NFL Players Union and the 10,000 subscribers to Muscle & Fitness Magazine, President Bush today took a hard line against steroid use, saying it sends the wrong message to children.

LMFAO. Did I dream this? Of all the issues in America, does this even rate in the top 1,000?

To improve America for the future you have to start young and these athletes have a huge effect on young children. If we can get them to stop taking illegal drugs then perhaps the youth of America will stop. I didn't hear him say anything about body builders. (unless you consider that a sport I don't think that applies.)

KMan: I doubt anyone would argue that sports would be better served if steroids were removed from the equation, but to have the issue included in the State of the Union address, given the myriad of issues that could have been raised, was a little ridiculous.

xpanda - I think it was directed to MLB personally. Sports is a huge business in America, I think he is just trying to help the Labor situation in baseball. Afterall he was an owner at one time......wasn't he?
