Bono is surely a lefty, but the man knows alot about this topic, has spent alot of time and money on it, and comes off as reasonable when he speaks about it publicly. I have seen him on TV many times and never seen him throw political fire bombs, he's above that when it comes to the African condition. I think he's a great spokesman for this cause and the Bush White House has worked with him for years now, as will the administrations that follow I am sure.

I agree. I've seen a few interviews with Bono...and I'd guess he does lean left, but he is very careful NOT to get political, he just seems to bust his ass to raise money and awareness to issues he cares about.
