Two streaking teams collide in New Jersey on Tuesday night, while the Capitals and Rangers try to bounce back from losses to highlight a busy night on the ice before the NHL breaks for Christmas.
Boston Bruins (1.89) at New Jersey Devils (2.02) (Money line inc. OT)

The Boston Bruins continue to be one of the NHL's elite teams. They've won five straight games heading into Tuesday's tilt in New Jersey. Boston has piled up the scoring stats in those games, averaging almost six goals. The Bruins will be without center Patrice Bergeron for a while after he suffered his second concussion in a little over a year. The last five games between these teams have been decided by two goals or less, with Boston winning just one of those. Boston is a 1.89 road favorite for this tilt.
The Devils are also streaking, winning their last three games. They jumped on the back of backup goaltender Scott Clemmensen, who had allowed only two goals per game during this stretch. Clemmensen picked up his 11th win of the season with a steady effort in a 3-2 shootout win over Philadelphia on Sunday. Winger Patrik Elias has been holding a hot stick through the last 10 games, scoring eight goals and picking up nine assists.
Washington Capitals (2.04) at New York Rangers (1.65) (Money line inc. OT)

The New York Rangers went toe-to-toe with the NHL's best team but couldn't complete a comeback against the San Jose Sharks. That loss snapped a three-game winning streak in which the Rangers eked out one-goal victories in each matchup. The Rangers peppered the Sharks with 17 of their 34 shots in the third period but they couldn't crack Evgeni Nabokov. New York has scored just under three goals in the past four games, which is actually better than its measly season average of 2.4 goals. Washington is a 2.04 road underdog in this game.
The Washington Capitals had their five-game winning streak snapped in miserable fashion on Saturday. The Capitals were smashed 7-1 by Philadelphia despite outshooting the Flyers 48-28. Washington bombarded Philly with 25 first-period shots, but careless defensive play and shaky goaltending from Brent Johnson and Jose Theodore contributed to their downfall. Johnson was stellar in his previous efforts and boasts a 2.55 GAA and 10 wins this season.
