These guys have too much money to burn.
Boston Red Sox pitcher Bronson Arroyo has taken time out from the AL East race to go grunge. On July 12, timed with the All-Star Game, the braided one will release his debut album, Covering the Bases, on his own WEA-distributed label. Aiding Arroyo in the effort are Mike Inez of Alice in Chains, Kenny Aronoff, Tim Pierce, Leland Sklar and Mike Landau, plus teammates Johnny Damon, Kevin Youkilis and Lenny DiNardo, with baby-faced GM Theo Epstein on guitar. "Everybody knows what an enormous talent Bronson is on the field, but he is equally talented and passionate about music and performing," WEA topper John Esposito enthuses. "With his dedicated fan base and unique marketing and promotional opportunities, we're looking forward to working with Bronson as he ventures into recorded music." Arroyo, meanwhile, calls the album “a dream come true. The support I have received has been tremendous, and I think it's an amazing record." In conjunction with the release, Arroyo will perform at <?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = ST1 />Boston’s Avalon Ballroom in <ST1
