JOURNEYMAN, I CONCUR WITH YOUR COMMENT ON RIX'S MECHANICS; HE HAS BEEN CHUCKING THE BALL OFF OF HIS BACK FOOT FOR 4 YEARS AND HAS MADE NO CONSCIOUS EFFORT TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. ADD HIS PATENTED SIDE ARM SLINGER AND IT IS EASY TO UNDERSTAND WHY D-BACKS FEEL LIKE THEY ARE PLAYING A SAND LOT GAME OF 500 WHEN FACING THE NOLES. I CAN ONLY HOPE THAT SOME LINEMAN GETS ROLLED ONTO HIS KNEE AND TAKES HIM OUT IN PRACTICE. EVEN THEN, THERE IS ALWAYS THE CHANCE THAT BOWDEN RUNS HIM UP TO THE NEXT BENNY HANN REVIVAL AND GETS HIM HEELED. Every year all the Florida schools field amazing athletes at every position except for the most important one, QB!! None of these guys ever succeed in the NFL, but they light up Rutgers and everything is cool. I do think Chris Leak may be about to change my theory in a few years...

That's because they are very rairly FROM Florida. The athletes you decribed are predominantly natives, but the QB's are usually imported.

I don't know if that really means anything, but it's interesting....to me.

Seems to me that all the great QB's are from the midwest.
