Brits took to Twitter to mock claims by the New York Times that the nation was 'reeling' from terror attacks.
In their coverage of the London stabbings, the American newspaper's headline read: 'Terrorist attacks in the heart of London leave 6 dead in a nation still reeling.'
But furious users on Twitter hit out to say that, while Britain was undoubtedly mourning, it was determined to keep calm and carry on.

Journalist Jason Cowley said: 'London is the city of the Blitz. Absurd and scandalous to suggest Londoners are reeling or scared. Mourning the dead, yes.'
The hashtag #ThingsThatLeaveBritainReeling was trending for most of Sunday.

Journalist Jason Cowley said it was 'scandalous' suggesting Londoners were reeling

Plenty of commentators online referenced the Blitz and pointed out that if London could survive Hitler, it could survive a terrorist attack.
Labour Activist Paul Richards said: 'Dear foreign journalists: London is not 'reeling', 'cowed' or 'on lockdown'. London is getting on with stuff, as usual.

A week ago eight people, including a Sheriff's Deputy, were killed in a shooting spree in Mississippi.
In 2016 the city of Chicago suffered 762 homicides, a 19-year high. There were 3,550 shooting incidents - almost ten a day.

President Donald Trump also added fuel to the fire, tweeting: 'Do you notice we are not having a gun debate right now? That's because they used knives and a truck!'

Mayor Sadiq Khan said he had 'better things to do' then respond to Trump's tweets.

The New York Times is as representative of America as Kathy Griffin. Of course, it's run by a former director of the BBC, so hardly surprising.

Does anyone think that the Brits of the Blitz era would ever let Nazis move in next door?

London mayor hits back against Trump!

London Mayor Sadiq Khan is calling on the British government to cancel a state visit from President Trump after Trump criticized his response to this weekend's terror attacks in London.

"I don't think we should roll out the red carpet to the president of the USA in the circumstances where his policies go against everything we stand for," Khan said in an interview with Britain's Channel 4 News.

"When you have a special relationship it is no different from when you have got a close mate. You stand with them in times of adversity but you call them out when they are wrong. There are many things about which Donald Trump is wrong."

Trump criticized Khan for his comments following the weekend terror attack in London that killed at least seven people and wounded dozens more.

"At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is 'no reason to be alarmed!'" Trump tweeted Sunday morning.
