Brett Favre tells ESPN he thinks he has a cracked rib

Vikings QB Brett Favre told ESPN on Monday that he may have a cracked rib.

The Vikings are set to play the Texans in a preseason game tonight. If Favre plays, it would be his second game since joining the team earlier this month.

Favre, 39, told ESPN he has discomfort when he takes deep breath. He has not had an official diagnosis of a cracked rib.

The QB, who had a torn biceps tendon surgically repaired in May, told ESPN "the damage is done."
The network reported he is expected to play the entire first half for the Vikings tonight. -- Sean Leahy
