he's doing the nuggets/spurs game right now, and I think he should just wear a "#1 gambler" tshirt because he really throws in the odds to his commentating. Tolbert is very quiet when Brent is saying it, so I don't know if he's into the scene also.

He's been known to make a gentleman's (very small wager) from time to time. You laugh if you knew how much he bets....but he didn't fail to mention at the beginning of the game that the Spurs come into this game as a small road favorites.

Now the round mound on TNT shows how much he bets. You can see he bet Seattle last night, as he was really pissy on the post game show

well, I know it's good to be unemotional when gambling, but time to time, even the best show their dark side.

in addition to the side, he also mentioned the total, which is rare

you almost never hear the announcers talking about the total.

He was also pissed when that 3 fell against Miami in the last game...and publicly stated that "the shot cost him"

i'd laugh if I heard jim gray has/had an offshore account. The guy would be crying if he lost $5 wager. "That's not fair! I even interviewed him and he promised me they'd win! waaaaaaa."

It wouldn't bother me in the least if he bets his entire slary or none at all. The problem is he is a terrible announcer! He never seems to be prepared no matter what sport he does. I have called him Brent Muteburger for years. Adds nothing to broadcast.
He much have pictures of somebody because he keeps showing up at high profile games.

bulldog, you're nuts. Brent is the best. He's one of us in the booth. Loves the action. I swear he hits the sauce during college football games. He progressively gets more excited as the game goes on.

I don't want 'oen of us' in booth. I want somebody to give us information about the game. Kind of like what he is paid to do. He's even worse on college football games.
Jimmy the Greek should have punched him a lot harder than he did that time.

It's actually quite surprising that Tolbert doesn't respond to Musberger's gambling references unless he's under orders not to. If you've ever listened to Mr T's Bay Area radio show, you would hear MANY conversations on gambling and Vegas is his favorite spot.

on thursday i was listening to L.A. sports talk radio 570.(winky will get in on this im sure)the hosts are steve hartman and ex laker mychal thompson.the gambling subject came up and thompson was doing all he could to say gambling amongst players doesnt exist even tho guys all have laptops and blackberrys and every thing needed to log onto an offshore account. i was on hold 15 minutes before i gave up to save my cell time but i was going to give a few examples of betting by kids in college and the nba.its blatant. and al michaels and brent dont hide it. im sure he got something sweet for mentioning the wynn.sports is business and gambling is too.as for mychal thompson he does the lakers color on radio and he swore the lakers would still make the playoffs with 3 games left.lmao. and now he guarantees phil jackson is returning.because his girlfriend is witholding sex untill he does.lol.shes jeannie buss.

Tolbert, who I like as an analyst, seems to be using the John Madden strategy when it comes to his partner's gambling references. He just ignores them or acts like he doesn't know the terminology. He's playing it really safe.
Madden really cracks me up with his feigned ignorance and non-responses to Al Michaels' gambling references. No way that Madden doesn't know the terms being a an assisstant and head coach going back to AFL days and being around the game as long as he has. He doesn't want anything messing up his numerous endorsement deals so he stays away from any even border-line references to any vice.
