Vernon Davis isnt worth a half point.....but yeah SF has given up. and why the gave Vernon away for nothing.....Denver didnt really give up anything there.

VD isnt what he used to be, but he also has a better QB throwing to him now....

you're right Vernon is worthless for us. But he will do better in Denver I'm sure. I just think the line should be more than it is especially because we might be making a quarterback change and I don't think that will make much of a difference as to how our team performs

Nope; we're done this year. I think Vernon still has some good football in him, but for whatever reason, the Niners have made very little use of him.

Nice move by Elway as the Broncos have really struggled this year in the red zone after losing Julius Thomas in free agency to Jax. I think the Broncos were counting on third round pick rookie TE Jeff Heuerman from Ohio State to contribute in the passing game, but he tore an ACL in training camp along with free agent Owen Daniels, but Daniels has been somewhat of a disappointment thus far. The timing of the move is a bit odd, considering last night was the first time they featured TEs in the passing game and even Virgil Green got made an appearance but I guess the trade deadline is fast approaching. If he can stay on the field, VD should make a nice target for Manning to toss his "wobblers" and just let Davis out muscle defenders like a PF going up for a rebound. Looks like the Broncos put rookie LT Sambraillo on injured reserved to make room.

Isn't VD a headcase?

I think he's had a history, didn't Singletary say can't win with him or something like that? I'm listening to an interview of VD right now, says he's thrilled to play with Manning and wants to win. Not sure what his contract situation looks like, but imagine he will be trying to get another contract from someone and doubt he acts up under Manning's watch.

Yeah, IF he can play. Out last weekend which is one of the myriad of reasons I backed up to the Rams ATM machine, but hasn't he been hurt most of the season so far? And he's had a history of injuries if I'm not mistaken........NFL, "No Folly Left out," LOL.

I think Elway took a flyer on him because it's a potential low risk, high reward situation. They only gave up two 6th rd picks in return for Davis and a 7th. IF Davis pans out and plays up to half of what he used to be, then it's a successful trade IMO.

Great move by the Broncos. Great value and another larger target on the field. LOVE IT!
