Ohio State university officials confirm that defensive lineman Adolphus Washington was cited Wednesday evening by City of Columbus police with a first-degree misdemeanor charge of solicitation.


Spokesperson Jerry Emig said Washington is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 17.

Great Post Tide.....Worth following if one plans to bet the Bowl games and the play-offs.....It is a known fact that the time between the last regularly scheduled game and the post-season games is a time the Coaches fear and dread the most. The Holidays, traveling home, the girls, excessive (drink) and many other distractions always plays havoc with late teen & early twenty-years olds. I hope the programs have a special funds set-aside for Bail Money.

Arkansas State players arrested on drug charges

Arkansas State defensive end Chris Stone and wide receiver Tyler Trosin were arrested on drug charges Tuesday in Jonesboro, Ark.

Stone and Trosin, both seniors, were taken into custody at about 2 a.m. on suspicion of possession of metamphetamine or cocaine, according to the Craighead County Sheriff's Office. Both remained in jail as of Tuesday morning.

In a statement issued Tuesday, Arkansas State coach Blake Anderson said the school is aware of the situation and seeking more information. He called the matter unfortunate and disappointing.

Stone has been a starter on the defensive line and Trosin is a backup receiver for the Red Wolves (9-3), who face Louisiana Tech on Dec. 19 in the New Orleans Bowl. Arkansas State won the Sun Belt Conference championship this year, finishing with an 8-0 record in league play.

Stone has 31 tackles, one interception and three fumble recoveries in 12 games this year. Trosin has contributed eight catches for 113 yards.

K-State DB Kaleb Prewett charged with alcohol-related offense


Believe it or not, an underaged college kid has gotten himself in trouble over alcohol.

According to the Wichita Eagle, Kansas State defensive back Kaleb Prewett was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with consumption and purchase of liquor by a minor. No details of what led to the 20-year-old’s arrest were revealed.

Prewett had started the first nine games at free safety this season, but had missed the last three because of injury. Prewett’s 49 tackles are fourth on the team.

K-State will play Arkansas in the Liberty Bowl Jan. 2. It’s unknown if Prewett, provided he’s healthy enough, will play in the game because of the incident.

Ohio State officials say defensive lineman Adolphus Washington has been cited by police for solicitation and is due in court Dec. 17.

Buckeyes spokesman Jerry Emig said Columbus police cited Washington Wednesday night with a first-degree misdemeanor.

Emig says coach Urban Meyer will discipline Washington once he gets back in town next week from a recruiting trip.

Washington is a senior who has played in one game this season after starting in 14 games last season.

Ohio State plays Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 1.

Notre Dame probably should have looked the other way on this one.....Allow the young man to take the "edge" off, especially if he was going to use his own money.

1st Semester closes and there is usually a good amount of KEY players that cannot play in their bowl game.
