2014 bowl record based on the better run defensive team was recorded last year and did well.. there were 6 games where the team with both the better run defense and better run offense qualified and that record was 5-1. In the following picks, the better run defense takes priority over the better run offense as the final pick. i like the system but not sure you want to be giving tons of points (obviously hindsight comment)

their was an entry on running offense in another thread. i think it was underdogs and big rushing totals (i would say it effectively rush-based offenses)

i checked a bunch of bowl results and it seems the team with more rush yards in game was the winner even passing offense and sometimes total offense was strongly in other team's favor
