Boston vs Toronto on 09/30 by Craig_Brown

Handicapper Analysis 0
Nick Pivetta (10-11, 4.48 ERA, 1.36 WHIP) is coming off of a rough start in which he allowed five runs on six hits over five innings of work in a 7-5 loss to the Yankees on Saturday. Boston has dropped four of five to the Bombers this season in games in which Pivetta started.

The Blue Jays are trying to maintain their position as the top wild card seed in the American League and will send Alek Manoah (15-7, 2.31 ERA, 1.00 WHIP) to the hill to tighten their grip. The 6’6” righty spun a gem in his last start, shutting out the Rays over seven full innings in what resulted in a 3-1 victory.

This will be the fourth time Manoah has seen this Boston lineup and he pitched extremely well in his previous three outings, including his last start in which he held the Red Sox to one run over six innings in a 4-1 Jays victory. Let’s watch Manoah do it all over again and back the Jays in this one.
