Bosox looking like a team that could win 110+ games!

At 36-15 the Sawx are on pace for a 114-48 season record.

A heavenly start in Boston has the Sox on cruise control in late May!

Some things to consider here;

They have done this without even playing Tampa Bay yet.

Approaching the 1/3 mark of the season , no Red Sox player has more than 9 homers.

Manny Ramiriex has not caught fire yet.

Their 5th starter has been middle reliever Julian Taveras.

Their big free agent signing J.D. Drew is on pace for 8 homers 50 RBI...although Mike Lowell must have found a new masking agent and is back on the juice, he's been awesome.

Point is the Sox haven't really got it all working yet and they're still kicking ass.

More to add:

They have two closers (something which prevents teams from going on long winning streaks is that the closer/setup guy is unavailable or gets burnt out because of being overworked)
The division lead is so big that their rivals might be sellers on the trade market making those August/September games just a cakewalk

Oh I know that already....I will be the blame, somehow I will have caused it...forumnomics :ughhh: I do believe they have a great shot at putting a rather impressive reg season record together here....

18 games left with TB, lets say they go 13-5 vs TB minimum.,,that puts them at 49-20 with 93 games left....61-32 in the rest and they have 110

Sorry but im just not sold on this team. I could go on and on as to why, but i will predict they win 95 games, and get upset in the 1st rd of the playoffs.

I can understand that...but it's hard t knock their record which is starting to looky pretty damn glossy.

1. Pitching not as impressive as it appears
-Blister Beckett always a liability
-Schilling old and unreliable
-Dice-K- who knows
-bullpen iffy at best

2. Hitting
-Other then the 2 guns, not another reliable bat in the lineup. Youkilis... ummm maybe

3. Did i mention im not sold on the pitching or hitting?

beckett is not a liability. schilling is not unreliable. bullpen "iffy at best" is an off the wall statement. you are entitled to your opinion.

Bostons pitching is 2nd in the AL a touch behind Oakland in team ERA and opponents batting average. Despite some guys not hitting yet, Boston is 3rd in runs scored.

From what I am seeing, this team is better than 2004.

... it usually means, "I really can't explain why, so I will just say I can"

Compare them to any other team Terps ... tell me why they will lose to the Angels, or whoever else ... and we don't mind you "going on and on"
