Kansas State -3 (-115), 1*
Kansas -13.5 (-115), 1*
Hawaii -2.5 (-110), 1*

Thrilled that college football is back. I would only play 13.5 on Kansas, not -14. Shop around, there are two prominent sportsbooks that have -13.5 right now. GL

Nice close to week zero after the tough loss with K-State. I’m so pissed I have an out-of-state wedding to attend next Saturday. Going to miss the LSU/Clemson and Texas/Ohio State games. That won’t stop me from making bets which will be posted here all season. Tell your friends, it’s going to be a fun year.

Wyoming/Akron 1H over 23.5 (-120), 1*
Houston -23.5 (-110), 1*

I would not bet South Florida at this number. They could cover and win. The problem is they opened at +10 and have been bet down to +5.5. The value is gone. At this number, I would bet Boise State or nothing. I will be passing that game, just wanted to give my thoughts. I am considering two other bets that I might add later. GL

Buffalo +17.5 (-110), 1*

I don’t really get this one. I think this should be like 14 and it’s much higher. The total in this game is 43.5 which tells you the oddsmakers are expecting a bit of a grind. If Minnesota scores 31 in this game, which I’m not sure they will, I would only need Buffalo to score 14 for the cover. I’m also considering throwing a half unit on Buffalo moneyline at +600. If this is a low scoring game, Buffalo could be very live. I might be wrong about this and I’m not getting crazy with bet sizing. There are big upsets in week one every year because we haven’t seen these teams yet. Wha people’s opinions and expectations are might not be what actually comes to pass. I will happily take 17.5 with the Bulls. This is probably it for today. GL

Michigan State -20.5 (-110), 1*
Baylor +2.5 (-115), 1*

I don’t think +3 is coming back for Baylor. If you want to bet moneyline instead of +2.5, I think that’s fine. 2.5 is most valuable if the game goes to overtime. I posted Michigan State a couple days ago. I think there are still 20.5’s out there so shop around.

Pretty good night considering that total was probably the worst bet I’ll give out all year. The fact that I was pretty spot on with the Buffalo bet and Houston covered made it much more palatable.

Ohio State ML (-115), 1*
Southern Miss +14.5 (-115), 1*
Southern Miss/Mississippi State over 60.5 (-115), 1*
UMass ML (+105), 1*
New Mexico/Michigan under 49 (-110), 1*
Oregon State ML (-120), 1*
Utah -5.5 (-110), 1*

Tough loss with Michigan State last night. Absolutely deserved better. That’s going to happen throughout the season and we will get some lucky winners for sure. It still doesn’t make things easier when you suffer the bad beat.

Great slate of games today. We are officially there. Cfb through Monday, then NFL starts Thursday. I will absolutely be adding to my card today. I’m waiting on some info and waiting on line movement. There are a couple bets I would like to make, but we aren’t quite there yet.

Lastly, always shop around if you can to get the best number. Utah is -5.5 everywhere. But at least 3-4 of those bets have different numbers across various sportsbooks. GL

Notre Dame -2.5 (-115), 1*

I like the over in this game. I’m just scared off by how the two big games went yesterday. Ohio State/Texas and LSU/Clemson had no chance to go over. I think Notre Dame is going to move the ball pretty successfully. I think Miami is going to try and play up-tempo and open it up. This feels like 31-24 or 34-24 Notre Dame. The total is actually going up as I type this from 50.5 to 51-51.5. Clearly other people agree with me. I’m going to hold off and just bet Notre Dame for now. I’m also looking at South Carolina if -6.5 pops at a decent price. GL

Good start with South Carolina. It took their offense a while to get going after that first drive, but they made big plays when they needed to. Harbor is a beast at wide receiver. I lean over in the Miami game, I just can’t get there. The offenses have been behind in these big games. While I can see this one going over as a I mentioned earlier, I like Notre Dame more then the over and I’ll stick with just that bet. If all you can get is -3, I would still bet that. But just like I wanted -6.5 on South Carolina, you are certainly better off having -2.5 with the Fighting Irish. Good luck everyone.

North Carolina +3.5 (-110), 1*

That was the best National TV game of the weekend between Miami and North Carolina. Miami’s kicker was nails. More then half the kickers in division 1 miss that 48 yarder. Let alone the 38 yarder before that. Carr stepped up and led multiple scoring drives. I knew he wasn’t going to score at the end. Less then a minute, no timeouts. Miami was able to pin their ears back and get after him. I think both teams should come away from that game feeling optimistic about their ability to make the playoff and the way both teams responded in big spots on offense.

I have to grab the points with North Carolina. I wasn’t going to bet this game where the spread had opened up. Now we are at 3.5 which seems a little disrespectful. North Carolina has some good players. TCU isn’t the class of the Big 12 or anything. I think Belicheck can still coach defense. This could be another surprisingly low scoring game. We have seen that throughout this weekend. Also, the transfer qb for UNC can make some plays. He’s not an unproven freshman who has never played football at this level or never played in a big game.

Iowa +3.5 (-110), 1*
Kentucky +9.5 (-112), 1*

I want to bet this game now in case it moves to +3. There are some other bets I’m going to make tomorrow, but I’m not in a rush. I like Baylor and Duke who are both +2.5. If I can get +3, it’s worth the wait. If not, I will bet them +2.5 or ML.

For tonight, I like Northern Illinois plus the points. I was hoping +17 would come back, but that doesn’t seem likely. I will still bet +16.5 if that’s the best I can do. I will update in an hour or so.

Iowa +3.5 (-110), 1*
Texas Tech/Kent State over 59.5 (-112), 1*
Baylor +3 (-118), 1*
Kentucky +9.5 (-112), 1*
Oregon State -2.5 (-110), 1*

Still waiting to see if Duke goes to +3. There are a couple prominent sportsbooks that have +3 for Baylor. If you don’t want to lay the juice you can wait. I’m fine with a moneyline bet if that’s the route you want to go. I will have a few more adds throughout the day. GL
