North Carolina ML (EV), 1*

The Tar Heels have been playing better since the turmoil around the program during their bye week. They lost by 3 at Cal in a game that they fumbled the ball going into the end zone. The kid looked like Rhamondre Stevenson. And then they lost by 1 against Virginia in overtime last weekend when they came up short on the game-winning two point conversion. Syracuse is a step down in class. I think UNC gets their first ACC win. I will have a couple more bets for tomorrow in the next post. GL

While I’m never going to complain about profit, that was tough yesterday. Vandy outscored Texas 21-0 in the fourth quarter and that bet pushed. Even worse was the Cal game. We could have won that game multiple ways. If Virginia converted on 4th and 1, they ice the game. It’s victory formation time. Still, Cal stopped them with 45 seconds left and got the ball. Just had to avoid a defensive TD for Virginia. First play deep ball gets intercepted and returned all the way for a TD. Cal loses by 10. If any of you watched that game, you know that was as bad a beat as there was yesterday. Pretty emblematic of how this cfb season has gone.

I am monitoring a bunch of games. I am going to bet Mississippi State, just waiting to see if I can get +10. I lean Penn State +14.5, not sure if I will get there. I think a six point spread is correct in the Oregon/Iowa game. If it gets back to 6.5 at reasonable juice, I will bet Iowa. If Iowa was to take a bunch of money and this dropped to 4, I would bet Oregon. Currently at +6, I lean Iowa. Let’s see where this line goes. I like how North Carolina has been playing the last few weeks. If that spread goes down to -7, I would bet them. At the current spreads in the Texas Tech and Alabama games, the numbers are too big for me to bet the favorites. But I also don’t trust the dogs. I lean under in the Texas Tech game, but that number has dropped two points this morning already. I missed the move. I actually am interested in Nebraska with their backup quarterback. He is a bit of an unknown and I think he can make some dynamic plays and win that game.
