On Sunday, Bob Schieffer signed-off for the last time from CBS News show Face the Nation. Afterwards he sat down with Howard Kurtz at Fox News to chat about the media.

Kurtz asked Schieffer about media bias and the cozy relationship between the media and the Democrat politicians.

Schieffer said that maybe people like him were too cozy with people in power, but at least back in the days when that was prevalent, people knew each other, were friendly to each other, and “the town worked a lot better.”

And then the discussion turned to Obama in particular.

Kurtz asked him if the media gave Obama an “incredibly easy ride” when he first appeared on the national stage. Schieffer admitted the political world was rather struck by how dynamic a figure Obama was and conceded, “Maybe we were not skeptical enough.”

Gee Bob, ya think?

Sad what's happened to Howie Kurtz. His show on CNN was great. He regularly skewered Fox News like any other unbiased, sane Media Critic. Now that he works for them, he's totally in the tank for them. Stelter on CNN has the far, far superior show, where he'll take anyone to task who deserves it.

I guess he just wanted to go with # 1 of all cable news.
