Just perusing Amazon looking for a good sportsbetting book, but the reviews are so conflicting, I thought I'd ask for advice here. I'm looking for a good handicapping book that doesn't spend 2/3 of its pages describing what parlays and teasers are. Stats, probabilities and other kinds of analytical advice would be helpful. Money management content would be of interest, as well.

Thanks in advance.

XPanda sighting outside of the political forum. Wow. Bob McCune is very good. Education of a Sports Bettor, Insights Into Sportsbetting, and another one with a similar title. He's a stud.

Bob McCune (RIP) wrote several excellent handicapping books all avaiable on line. Gamblers Bookstore (in Vegas) Amazon and maybe E-Bay. Everyone of them is worth the time and money to obtain and read. They are starting to get dated but the basic principles remain very current. Bob himself was a true gentleman and a very stand up guy.

wil.

Fish, really? How long ago did he pass away? I would have loved to meet the guy. He totally destroyed the stereotype of a gambler wanting to make easy money and not have to work. He probably worked as hard as anyone, and had as much discipline as one can have. That's what I got out of his books.

Approximently 4-5 years ago Bob passed away.

I first met Bob in 1984 while visiting Vegas and then became well acquainted with him through working with Sonny at the Castaways.

Discipline was a key ingredient in Bobs teachings, you are correct.

The next time i see you, remind me and i will hash some stories to you about Bob and me.
