Teams that have played Denver the week before are 14-1 ATS this season. The only loss is the Jags.
This is including Oakland's bye week in wk 11.

I guess the tough defense makes the difference from one week to the next.

O/U is 9-6

W2 CAR COVER - OV
W3 IND COVER - UN
W4 CIN COVER - UN
W5 TB COVER - UN
W6 ATL COVER - OV
W7 SD COVER - OV
W8 HOU COVER - UN
W9 SD COVER - OV
W10 BYE
W11 OAK (AFTER BYE) COVER - OV
W12 NO COVER - UN
W13 KC COVER - OV
W14 JAX LOSS - OV
W15 TEN COVER - UN
W16 NE COVER - OV
W17 KC COVER - OV

Wild Card OAK...

Personally I still took Houston -3 +100. With the Raiders QB situation this trend could be meaningless.
If Denver keeps coach Phillips and has a top defense next year, this trend is something to keep an eye on.

Cool trend...go Houston. My forecast is another one and out. Don't wanna put the cart before the horse...let's just get one first. Brock makes me nervous. I hope the fans enjoy punting, might need to buy a couple six packs to make this one more interesting. I'll take a guess though...first half 6-0 with Novak kicking two field goals. Seemed to play out like that all season long. BOL Denver!

This year, I think this trend has been money for the Patriots as well.

So why would a team that played Denver cover the spread the next week? Please provide a logical explanation. Not criticizing, just trying to think.

(sometimes teams play a very physical team and the next week LOSE to the spread because they have been hit and bruised and worn down... there are reasons but I do not see one here since Denver is just a so so team this year. If Denver was pounding teams all year then the next game the team might get more points in the spread and cover... ?)

as I stated in my first post, I think it's the tough defense from Denver. The next opponent's defense is a difference maker in the amount of points covered for the team with the trend on their side.

It would be worth it to go back and check how teams do the week after facing a top 3 D. Denver's weakness in defense this year was the run game, but that's about it.
