Didn't want to believe it when i read the negative threads on here about 5dimes but i guess they are true.
I know c/s leaves something to be desired but things are getting to be a joke.
Quick story is i recently moved, Put in for a withdrawal but before i did i went into their personal info section and updated my address (which said and showed as changed afterwards and still does with the bew address). I got the tracking number from 5dimes and sure enough the check was sent to my old address. Called them up not mad at all as mistakes happen figuring it would rectified with just a phone call from them to fedex. Their a+ c/s turns it around on me saying it was my fault as i have to notify them as well via phone. She couldn't get thru her stupid brain i would have done that IF on the website it said my address has not been sucessfully updated. How the hell was i supposed to know, I'm not Carnac......
Fine, She tells me to call fedex and change it, I do and they won't.. Call back to speak with accounting, "Oh no, Only we speak with accounting".Again fine, Call back this morning, "There's nothing we can do, We cancelled the check have to wait to we receive it back and redeposit it in your account and then i have to do a new withdrawal". This has to be a joke right?.. It gets even worse. I ask how long this is going to take. "Up to 1 month" they answer.
I ask why not just have fedex forward the check. They answer "It's too late to do that now as we cancelled the check.
After many years wth 5dimes and never a issue i thinks its time to move on. I don't know whats going on with them but a big thumbs down to them. This is not how a shop as big as them should handle business.:puke1:

They are definitely on the decline, there are better options out there. No need to deal with Tony and his BS anyways.

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..

Don't see the big problem. Happens all the time with any number of legitimate businesses. I move around frequently and have to update my info with Bank of America three times before it gets updated. Same with CC's and university address lists.

That argument is valid if they explain that to you first. I changed it on the site before i asked for a withdrawal and it said the address was changed. Then they blame it on me like i should have known different and now i have to wait up to a month instead of them just calling fedex and changing the delivery address and fixing THEIR mistake. And on top of it they are rude about it the whole time even though i never raised my voice or used nasty language or tone.:think2:

Who is Tony the head man in charge?

5Dimes is especially useful for NHL, IMO. The dimeline can be matched on other stuff, but rarely hockey.

They are as safe as any book, IMO.

They are important to have, if you can't fund Matchbook.

I agree with you and 5dimes had always been my favorite book but this has been quite frustrating. Their unwillingness to fix their mistake is what irks me the most.
I still feel they are 100% safe but c/s just needs to improve by leaps and bounds.
