IEP's ...I have several different ones per class..504s..
My classes were overloaded...I had around 30-32 students per class...
I have a lot of Hispanic students that were placed in my class that can't speak English...I would have to spend time taching in both ENglish/Spanish...I have no backing by the administration...Kids can sit there and cuss all day long but the principal would just send them back to class with a soda or something...All it would do is get everyone wanting to get kicked out so they could go to the principals office...
The most discourging fact would be that I have 25 kids in class that would want to learn...then 3-5 kids that do not care..would disrupt the other kids constantly...There was not much I could do ....Principal would send them back to class and they cont. like before disrupting...Half of the kids parents don't care and change there phone on a weekly basis....IT is just tough sometimes....
Believe me, I feel your pain. Those problems you mentioned are all
very serious, and the shame is that these idiots that never spent a
day in a classroom think they have the answers. If you read my post
about the threat of being arrested I would suggest you give it a chance.
It worked for me, not all the time but it was a good tool. Your other point
about the parents is also very valid. These questions and problems
have to be addressed eventually. The R's say we should test and test.
It is so amazing how stupid they are.
