How is it free when you need to open a account, fund it, and play a minimum of $300, (with a 20 cent hockey line), to get full "free" plays on prizes you may or may not win?
Considering half of your plays need to be on the NBA, (which I know noting about), this endeavor would be -EV.
Please don't take this as a bash JOH, as we all appreciate what you do here, but I have no interest in playing a contest that involves a sport I have zero interest in.
Sorry JOH, I'm finding it hard to care about this contest because 1st prize is *only* 2k. Not that I don't want to win it pretty bad, but it feels like it's gone on forever and I have so many other things going on. BetPhoenix contest looks interesting but between school, work and my drinking/gambling problem I just don't have time to play for $150.
Also I don't really want to play another contest against puckhandler. He's got me at every turn.
I did read over the contest and gave it some thought, but the next book I open an account at/fund will be betfair, not betphoenix.

I just had a guy from BetPhoenix call me on my phone with some sales pitch trying to get me to fund my account. THAT certainly wasn't in the rules and wasn't appreciated. Took me years to get those high pressure boiler room scamdicappers to stop calling my number and to this day they still send shit to my parents house when I used to live there over 30 years ago.

Don't get me wrong, this contest has been a lot of fun and I hope to enter again next year (though I hope the buyin gets increased and more people join). It's definitely made my NHL season a lot more interesting and exciting. It's just contests like these are a big commitment and the prize has to be really big to make it worth it for me.
I also much prefer a post-up contest because it keeps out the riffraff.
The longer this contest goes, the less chance I have of finishing in the money.
Betphoenix offers tremendous value (IMO)
Personally I deposited $200 there and got a $200 bonus, after completing the rollover I am allowed to switch to the "LAY -105" club and play with reduced juice.
The contests on the forum are an added perk, and the fact that BetPhoenix are active with forum members is a good sign to me.
Of course they are not perfect for everyone, Vic, I understand they dont have reduced juice on Hockey which doesnt make them too valuable for you. Ewitty, I understand that you are very busy. But nobody should read this thread and think there is no value at BetPhoenix.

If you do not want to be called, it is best to call the sportsbook right after registering and let them know, also, you can let the telemarketer know to put you on the do not call list. As a final resort, if a book calls after being told a few times not too, you can contact TheRX, and I will do what I can to make sure you are not called.
