NFL Betting: Super Bowl 2010
It may seem a little early to be talking about next years Super Bowl, but Betfair have whetted our appetites by putting up the 2010 Super Bowl Winner market up today. Money is already starting to get matched, but is there any value in making an early bet?
By taking early bets like this you can, in some cases get very good odds. I remember this time last year when you could get the Dolphins at odds of around 250. Ok, so they didn't win, but they did make it to the playoffs. If you had placed a back bet when they were at 250 and then Layed at the end of the regular season you would have made a very nice profit, and I am sure many people did.
I am not suggesting you should rush to get a bet on the Lions this year in the hope that they repeat the Dolphins success, but it is a good time to start studying how each franchise is preparing for next season.
The favourites in the market so far are the Steelers and the Patriots. It makes sense to see the Steelers there having just won the Super Bowl, and I would say the return of Tom Brady is driving the Patriots price at the moment.
It will be interesting to see how the odds move for Baltimore and Tennessee. Both teams are available at good odds at the moment and I can see these getting lower as time goes on.
