The bi-annual freeway series opens tonight in Anaheim. This is easily the best series of the weekend. You have the best team in the Majors versus the hottest team in Baseball. Although the Giants and Padres are nothing to be that proud of, the Angels have two back-to-back sweeps of those teams. The important thing to look at with regards to the Halos is that their offense is back. They have the highest batting average in MLB and are on fire at the plate. This team has been hitting HRs like they are going out of style.
With the Dodgers coming to town, there are some very interesting matchups on the horizon. Tonight we have Billingsley vs. Saunders. Two pitchers with very good stuff. Saunders has been improving and Billingsley has been lights out this year. The Angels did tag him for 5 runs last time he was in Anaheim, so he is hittable. Saturday is a real treat with the Weaver brothers going to battle. Jeff for LAD and Jered for LAA. What a great atmosphere that will be. Sunday has Kershaw vs. Lackey, both of who have had very interesting starts to the season.
Torii is back in the lineup for the Halos tonight after crashing into the centerfield wall in San Francisco. Tonight's game will have a lot of intensity as the LAA and LAD fans get into it usually. It's a little more subdued because this game will be played in Anaheim. When this series is up at Chavez Ravine, you usually have to worry about guns and knives in left field, and making it out of the parking lot without being stabbed.
Although Billingsley has been a stud as of late, I am going to continue to ride the Halos as they are RED HOT. Please keep in mind that the Angels just took down Tim Lincecum, so they will be able to matchup with Billingsley tonight. The Angels are a steal tonight at -108. @)
