i am looking for a reliable book that is easy to navigate around to put $500 in to bet on the breeder's cup and sports... what do you here think is the best book to bet on the ponies? I have used bodog in the past for the derby's and found it to be o.k. but i would like some input from people who bet ponies regularly?

thanks in advance

You'll get the usual Pinnacle response, but CRIS had gained significant ground on them, beating Pinny in limits and higher rebates (in some circumstances). You have to check out the terms, since CRIS's 8% is based on internet exotic wagers. WPS is at 3%. Phone wagers at 5% exotics, 2% WPS. With the BC being held at Belmont this year, Pinny rebate will be at 4% instead of their usual 7%. Both offer matchups, however the CRIS line usually has a higher vig than Pinny. Pinny used to rule with matchups, but has been increasing the edge over the last couple of months. Hopefully this helps.

I use Pinnacle as well as YOUBET....I know all of YouBets gets thrown into the pools and is just like being at the OTB. I know it does not help you much, But thats the best I can do...........G.

Horse Book

Hello
Try Ehorse If You Have To Go Offshore
They have Restructured Their Rebate Program
And It Is Quite Attractive www.betehose.com
Use The 800# Ask For Brian Sweeney And See What He Will Do For You.
If I Did Not Live In NJ I Would Probably Use YouBet Or Phila Park Phone Bet.
I Will Say That The Exotic Caps At Ehorse Suck But All Offshores Do To My Knowledge( If Incorrect Someone Please Let Me Know)

IF you play at youbet you will be required to pay taxes on your winnings if your 1 dollar trifecta actually hits and pays more than 500, something quite probable especially if you are only playing the breeders cup.

Make sure that the book you play at does not cap winnings on exotic bets. Some crappy books will only pay you 100-1 on exacta or 500-1 on trifecta, you get the idea.

Pinnacle is probably the answer, but feel free to shop around.

Also, you get a live tote on all tracks at brisnet.com, very useful tool.

Does Pinnacle Pay Track Odds On Exactas And Tris?

Yes, Pinny pays track odds on exactas and tris. They have a 100,000 daily cap on BC day, although I think they might raise it for the Pick 6/7 on that day. This is where CRIS is blowing Pinny out of the water. CRIS is going to a per race max whereas Pinny is going with a per day cap. On a day like BC day, this could be a real possibility on a monster day. I'm about to move part of my everyday action to CRIS since I play almost exclusively exotics, keeping some at Pinny for matchups, etc. Here are the policies:

Thanks For The Info
I Have To Be Insane Not To Move To Pinnacle Or Cris
I Think I Would Prefer Cris Because They Seem Easier To Reach By Phone
IS Cris A Solid Operation In Your Opinion?

Pinnacle Horses Phone Number - 1-800-423-4842

$100 minimum per call. 5% rebate on all wagers. I've had nothing but great experiences with their horse clerks. No busy signals, easy to work with. Although I have to admit that I'm a little scared to see what things will be like on BC day since I'll be at Belmont. Not sure if I'll have moved some of my stake over to CRIS by then or not.

When I do play races on their own, it's almost always Pick 4s. I haven't really played much recently. Haven't played since BC Preview Day at Belmont a few weeks ago. I'll certainly put up my early and late Pick 4s for Breeders Cup Day, although I'm already fearing the one that has the Juvenile Fillies race, historically my worst race of the 8!

Not the case Kidslick. Check the link I provided above for Pinnacle's limits. For BC day, the DAILY limit is $100k, not $10k.

Powerscourt retired. That was one horses I was looking to absolutely unload on. Guess I can save that for more losing matchups!
