I know this will open the flood gates of opionons...But my question..Who is tested over time with NBA capping? Good analysis, some write ups but not always and someone who has a record more than this season? Who are the three guys you would follow?

Thanks

i said this before write-ups are ok, but if i want to read a book on gambling i would go to the library, the main thing for the game posted to win from a proven winner.ck

hey ck you aren't too bad yourself. I look for your picks as well, but you don't post everyday. Also, I can't bet 1st half lines with my local, and you seem to like those.

yeh agree but got to give it to brews, he has been picking winners lately.

what makes a good capper is consistent longetivity in picking winners and also being able to ride a bad streak while keeping your cool to battle it. ive seen good cappers who have had good records for years but first time they hit a bad tide, they panic and make it worse by forcing plays. you just got to do what you've always been doing and not lose your cool.

capping myself, thats what i have learned and im getting better in the game. you can never stop learning.

I didn't realize there were any gambling books out there on how to beat the NBA...If there are, I have never read one...And if there are any good ones, give me a title to look up at Amazon or at the library and I may read it to see if there is anything I can learn...I am open-minded and am always willing to pick up a tip or 2 from someone who is knowledgeable...

There are 2 kinds of tailers...

1) People who just want "winners" and don't care about anything else, and
2) People who want "winners", but they also want to learn to handicap better themselves, so they are looking for insight into the mind of the people providing winners so they can learn what to look for..."What are they seeing that I am not?"...They are looking for reasoning and insight to gain knowledge...

I provide my insight because I want to pass on what I have learned over the years...I won't be around forever...

And I will look around these forums when I have time to see who the good cappers are on and I like looking at their thought processes myself to see if their reasoning makes sense to me and I am also looking to see if they can provide an angle I may have missed...

Problem with just posting plays only is that there are a zillion people just posting plays and any monkey who has learned how to flip a coin and type can get hot and all of a sudden they are a genius...Until the wheels fall off...And there are attention-whores and scammers doing the same and they change aliases frequently until they hit a hot streak and suddenly, after trying with 9 aliases, alias #10 hits a hot streak and now they are a genius...Again, until the wheels fall off and they are exposed...

Most people don't post analysis because they don't want to expose themselves as "guessers"...They may or may not know how to diagnose a game, but they don't want to expose themselves, so they will just post a play and hope it wins...

And again, with thousands of beginners/fakers/schmucks/attention whores/scammers out there just posting plays, a proven capper like carolinakid can get lost in the shuffle, because only the smart people know how good he is...So when kid only posts his plays, folks that don't know him see just another poster posting a play...Gobs of those posters out there...

My personal opinion is that carolinakid is one of the best overall cappers if not THE best overall capper on this site...

But a lot of cappers who are "information-gatherers", as I call them, who want reasoning and are willing to learn, kind of miss out on his quality picks because they don't see the reasoning every time and they take a pass on him because they lump him in with all the other guys just posting picks...

That's my 2 cents...Because I pretty much dismiss almost all posters who don't give reasoning because I want to see if the thought-process is there to analyze...I personally, analyze the reasoning more than I look at the picks...

The reason is simple: When I see a good capper who doesn't post reasoning on the same picks/bets that I have, I just assume he is on them for the same reasons I am...But when I see him on the opposite side of me on a bet, I want to know why...I know last night I had a 2H bet that I "knew" was a stone cold winner and I saw someone on the other side and I would have LOVED to know why he was on the other side...

Anyway, I certainly recommend carolinakid, SB, gabby and a few others in the NBA section...

CK is def one of the best, and certainly flies further below the radar than any other capper on here. Got be on your game to get all his picks in, but each day is a new one for him so he is on that you don't necessarily have to follow every one of his picks.

mistermj was great last year and started out really well this year. He posts 1-3 picks by 4 or 5 each day and does not add, so he is one that is easier to follow.

mistermj is purely statisical and CK is, well who knows how he does it but his bad days are few and far between.
