Since i started thinking of this and started the thread...let me go first

60's - 1968 Beatles 'White album'

70's - 1975 Led Zeppelin 'Physical Grafitti'

80's - Tie 1987 Guns N Roses 'Appetite for Destruction' and 1987 U2 'Joshua Tree'

90's - Tie 1992 Nirvana 'Nevermind' and 1993 Pearl Jam 'Vs'

00's - jury still out...I like Staind 'Break the Cycle' myself..

i'm gonna have to give some thought to the other decades , but for me the best album of the 80's was

AC/DC Back in Black. Rocked from top to bottom.

I think the triumvirate of Ten, Vs, and Vitology may be unsurpassed for the 1st 3 albums from ANY group, that’s all powerful stuff there.

i believe def leppard was the first rock band to have back to back 10 million selling albums with pyromania and hysteria back in the 80's.

not sure if anybody has done it since.

That is a understatement. What an unbelievable band. Cannot wait until the next album comes out. Sounds like a tour starting in September roughly. I will make sure and get to at least 2 or 3 of them.

Have to agree with all of that, seen PJ live 4 times including one of their very best shows ever at Soldier Field in July of 1995, that was amazing!

Guys, I just looked at Rolling Stone's Top 100 Greatest Pop Sonds and Britney Spears "Hit me baby one more time" was #25 and "MmmmmBop" by Hansen is #28. And #10 "I want it that way" by Backstreet Boys. WTF!?

You're an absolute genius , as those are definitely the best from the 60s and 70s era and my two picks also....

....I'm more of a metal head, U2's kind of faggy, I like Yngwie Malmsteen's "Marching Out" for the 80s, Marilyn Manson's "Anti-Christ Superstar" for the 90s, and Stone Temple Pilot's "Shangri-La" for the 2000s, but music has been very watered down and not as good as what it was before 1986.
