HAWKEYES To Face S. Carolina In Outback Bowl

Sunday, December 7, 2008
<!--startindex-->COLUMBIA, S.C. -- South Carolina will face Iowa in the Outback Bowl on New Year's Day in the first-ever meeting of the two schools.

South Carolina has a history at the Outback Bowl, with consecutive appearances after the 2000 and 2001 season, both times defeating Ohio State.

Iowa snapped out of a three-game losing streak and won five of their next six games, including an upset of Big Ten rival Penn State, to finish the season at 8-4.

Iowa is expected to send 25,000+ fans just from their home state to the city of Tampa.<!--stopindex-->

If I am in town--which is almost certain--I'll be jumping in the 5Team carpool from the greater Riverview/Fish Hawk area.

Do you guys prefer a wood or plastic playing surface?

The plastic provides a tougher game in my opinion(official playing surface of BAGGO), as the bags will slide more, thus making it my game of choice.

The wood game is for those that like their throws to stick and not slide.

Both are terrific in their own way.

Wood is good on the beach, as you can put sand on the wood to help the slide.

You never played on plastic?

The official BAGGO site lists only 12 college boards you can order, dominated by BIG TEN miswestern schools.

I prefer wood. We make our own decks also. If you put a little varnish on them the bags slide really good. even without varnish the more the bags land on the deck the more of the corn dust comes out. which makes them slide more. We call it bags or cornhole in chicago.
