Bears fan here... if you want to make money, anytime the bears are favorites, take the other team and points. Matter of fact, just take the other team. The defense is avg, the offense will be horrid again, and teams won't punt/kick to Hester, so there goes any chances of them scoring.

Also bet Chicago overs. Everyone has convinced themselves for two plus years now that the Bears are an under team. I haven't figured that out. They are always going over. Everywhere I read today is was "play the Chiefs/Bears under" and it goes over easily. Like you said, Bears defense is average. People still believe it's good. The oddsmakers still makes their totals low based off the perception that the Chicago defense is really good and that Chicago is always involved in low scoring games.

I watched the game last night and here's my take on the Bears:

Defense will be good as long as they don't get killed with injuries like last year. The Cheifs scored on their 1st drive but once the D settled in, there wasn't anymore scoring until the 2nd and 3rd string came in. In the first pre-season game and 1st serries I'm not drawing any conclusions just yet.

On the other side of the ball, this will be the same old Bears team. Until Ron Turner is gone, the offense will be the most predictable in the league with a 2nd string QB throwing to below average recievers. Their new RB Forte is going to help and the rest of the committee can move the ball as well.

In conclusion, D will be better and the offense will suck again but will be better than last year without Benson back there. IMO, I would not play the over in every game just yet...

I didn't say in every game but the pattern the last two years for Chicago has been overs for the most part. The unders in their game seem to get pounded and lose more often than not.
