The NFL's legal tampering period hasn't officially begun yet, but according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Mike Glennon and the Chicago Bears are expected to enter negotiations to make the 27-year-old Jay Cutler's official replacement.

When the tampering period begins, expect the #Bears to make a major push for FA QB Mike Glennon, and I'm told Chicago is his preferred spot

Glennon's contract is expected to reach the neighborhood of $14 million per year, a number that represents more than Cutler would have accounted for in 2017.
The Bears currently have only Cutler under contract at quarterback. Both Brian Hoyer and Matt Barkley are unrestricted free agents who are unlikely to return if Glennon is signed.
Signing Glennon will all but end any hope of the Bears drafting a quarterback in the first round. Debate over whether Clemson's Deshaun Watson or North Carolina's Mitchell Trubisky were worthy of a top-five pick might quickly become moot in Chicago.
Glennon, who's served as Jameis Winston's backup for the last two years, hasn't received overwhelming support from the Bears' fan base on social media. Regardless, he is reportedly leaning toward Chicago as his preferred landing spot and is up for the challenge of winning over the fans.
