I would go with the favs here. Harvard-NU starts in a few minutes. That one could be close, but Northeastern is a small, scrappy team. I think that BC is prob the best pick of the night. They should win by 2.. Im pissed that Pinnacle doesnt have any lines up for it. Im also pissed im sitting at work when I have tickets for the games tonight. Ill be at the championsip though. Where did you get your lines? Good luck

5 Dimes you can buy points, as much as 12 in parlays, you pick the number.

Northeastern, BU win first-round Beanpot games

By Associated Press, 2/8/2005 00:39

<WIRE_BODY>BOSTON (AP) Boston University halted the nation's longest unbeaten streak and Northeastern won a double-overtime thriller in Monday's opening round of the 53rd annual Beanpot Tournament. The underdog came out on top in both games.

Tim Judy scored 2:01 into the second overtime to give Northeastern a 2-1 victory over Harvard in the opening game.

Boston University (16-10-2) beat Boston College, which entered play ranked No. 1 in the nation by U.S. College Hockey Online, 2-1 in the nightcap on a pair of goals from John Laliberte.

Northeastern (11-13-4), seeking its first Beanpot title since 1988, beat Harvard (14-6-2) for the fourth time in five games to advance to the final.

Harvard lost in the first round for the seventh straight time, matching the longest futility streak in school history.

Harvard's Tom Walsh tried to clear the puck following a Northeastern rush, but Judy intercepted the pass and flung a wrist shot over goalie Dov Grumet-Morris to end the longest Beanpot game since Feb. 7, 1994, when Boston College beat the Huskies 5-4 in double overtime.

''That's by far the biggest goal I've scored in my career,'' Judy said. ''On that stage, in this environment, it was unbelievable.''

Harvard opened the scoring 59 seconds into the first period on Kevin Du's unassisted goal, and Mike Morris tied it with 2:37 left in the period.

Gibson made 39 saves, and shut out Harvard for the final 82 minutes, to lead Northeastern. Grumet-Morris stopped 34 shots for the Crimson.

Stephan Siwiec made 36 saves for Boston University, which stopped Boston College's unbeaten streak at 14 games and beat the Eagles for the eighth straight time in a Beanpot opener.

Laliberte put the Terriers ahead to stay with an unassisted goal at 6:40 of the second period. Laliberte tied the game at 1-1 at 19:44 of the first on a play in which he crashed into Eagles goaltender Matti Kaltiainen after shooting the puck. The play was reviewed by officials who allowed the goal to stand.

''I thought we played the game we needed to play,'' Boston University coach Jack Parker said. ''I was really pleased with how we played, especially in the third period.''

Ryan Shannon gave Boston College (17-4-5) a 1-0 lead at 14:18 of the first period. The Eagles, who outshot the Terriers 37-18, hadn't lost since BU beat them 3-2 on Dec. 3.

''One goal isn't going to be enough to win many hockey games,'' Boston College coach Jerry York said. ''Tonight we got frazzled.''

The Huskies and Terriers will face each other next Monday in the championship game. Boston University will go for its 22nd Beanpot championship in 36 years. Notes: Last night's games were the first hockey contests played at the FleetCenter since the Boston Bruins lost to the Montreal Canadiens in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals back on April 19, 2004. ...Northeastern is 0-3 in its last three title game appearances. ...Boston College hasn't beaten Boston University in a Beanpot opener since 1981.
