How do you look past a 6-1 team that beat you in YOUR HOUSE the last time you played them? As much as BC backers want to believe the "look-past" theory to bolster their hopes of a BC cover, I don't.

Vick will make some bonehead plays. Im sure BCs defense will force him into it. Im sure the Tech defense will look sharp this game. But I think BC will be well prepared not make mistakes and surprise people and make this a real close game. FLY EAGLES FLY lol plus 14.

I missed part of the WF game, only seeing the 2nd half. So my question is, how did Wake score so much and if Wake scored like that why wont a much better VT team? Plus VT's D is much better than Wakes. Not trying to be a thread basher, just looking for input. Thanks

JustMe...was at the Wake game, it was f'in pouring rain all game and Porter didn't protect the ball. We had 5 turnovers and gave them ridiculously good field position all game. As far as whether Porter or Ryan will start...I know that myself and the rest of campus will be praying for Matty Ryan at the helm. Either way, I still don't see VT "blowing us out". Vick will be contained by a very strong line and LBs, and the run will be stopped. Vick is not a great passer yet, and so I don't see Tech putting up huge numbers this game.

I just don't understand why anyone expects to cover two TD's with two equally matched defenses (one could argue BC has played tougher competition so far), and a well rounded BC offense? Sure Va Tech can run the ball but they are ranked 90th in the country in passing yards per game...and Vick's numbers are solidified against crappy competition...against NC State he had a passing rating under 80 and last week under 60. hmmm...real solid passer...last week's Maryland game gave BC backers an extra 4 points because all of a sudden no one believes Va Tech can lose...but this isn't like Texas...they aren't nearly as good, and BC isn't nearly as bad as anyone thinks they are in this thread...but I've said my peace...and I feel confident in BC...they may even win this one SU!

The old Tech teams this is when they would blow it but I don't think this year. Sorry but Oddsmakers dont put up -14 for a reason. If the D are equally matched then why is it -14 cause its at tech. BTW Tech as more Offensive weapons on offense. Two good WRs and imo and also Tech TE is good. I'll take VICK of any of BC Qbs. I'm not saying tech will cover or not but I dont' shit no I do not see tech Losing this one

BC could not keep up with FSU's speed, and I think VT is as fast and has more talent than FSU. I like VT.

If you look at the stats of that game you will see this is not true. BC had more passing and rushing yards. FSU got two scores late so if you are basing it off that theory BC is the play.

Winning Wand has got it...If Porter didn't throw an INT for a TD on the first play of the game, I think it would have gone the other way. Not to say that they have much intelligence at all, but a lot of CFB analysts asserted that BC outplayed FSU for the majority of the game.

Here is what bothers me about this game. Against FSU and Wake, BC had trouble with TO's. Now they are going against the best team in the ACC for takeaways averaging 3.3 per game.

If this happens tonight it is going to be a long night for BC. I am not sold either way on this game, so I make just a small play on the over.

JustMe, I hear what you're saying, but you also have to look at the weather conditions against Wake. If you were watching that game in that pouring rain, you'd understand why they'd turn the ball over. Also, I don't know where you came up with the "trouble with TO's" against FSU. BC had 2 TOs in that game while FSU had 3. Wake was the only game where BC struggled and since I was standing there in pouring rain, no one in the stands was surprised at any of the fumbles..it had been raining for 8 days straight when we played that game.

I agree that BC has a quality team but VA Tech is clearly one of the best teams in the country. They have the best defense and if Vick doesn't make bonehead plays like he did against Maryland, they win this game.

BC better come to play because they will not score many points. Can BC offense hold VA Tech to below 24 because i do not see BC scoring more than 10 points the conventional way without a lot of turnovers or special teams.

On the other side, I think BC has a quality defense. The thing about betting against Va Tech is when they get ole MOMENTUM going in Blacksburg, it is like a run away train of enthusiam.

At the very least, a special teams/Defensive touchdown late by Va Tech to cover the 13.

I still say thought from what I have scene of Va Tech defense this year, they could beat Texas and USC.
