Baylor did not help itself last night.....ony 1 team can give the Big12 any respect.

That was bad last night.. no other way to sum it up. I am not sure that is a top 10 team at this point. It is so hard to judge a team when they play no one all year...At this point I am not sure what was worse? Scoring 66 on lamar and 70 on rice or giving up 36 to TT, 38 to Wva, or 27 to iowa st.. then we watch a VERY bad k st team take them to the wire.

TCU is the same widget with a different wrapper.

I really hope OU runs the table and represents the Big12 if they are to have a horse in the final four. When I think of the top 4 teams we have right now, the only one with a chance out of Big12 to play physical, big boy football is OU.

I am sure some TCU and Baylor fans will tell me how wrong I am but if you put a dress on a pig it is still a pig...

Think we need GoSooners input here, but imho, no one from the Big 12 is going dancing. TCU and the Pokes are gonna knock one of themselves out tomorrow, not that the Pokes are even in the conversation, but they could certainly take out the Frogs in Stillwater. I don't think if OU runs the table can make it in with that one loss with all those others ahead of them. Acts, and I do mean plural, of God would be required for that to happen. Frankly, I like Buckey's chances, even with Barrett on the bench. I put my money on Jones every game at the end of last season, no reason to back down now. GL

I don't think it is out of the realm of possibility that Oklahoma beats Baylor by double digits at home.

i watched the whole game and I thought baylors defense was suspect in the Lamar game... Then they got steamrolled in the second half by Iowa state just running the ball... Had Iowa state done that all game they would have had a legit chance to win....then last night k state ran a high school Jv offense and kicked baylors ass all over the line of scrimmage.... They knew exactly what was coming and couldn't stop it 75% of the time.. QB keeper about eleventeen times a drive and they had 11 in the box the whole second half.... 11 guys in the box!!!!

i know bad defenses when I see them, I'm an Oregon fan lol! Baylors runs defense is the equivalent of Oregon's pas defense this year, that's not a joke either, that's real talk. My guess is that Oklahoma and Perine eat them alive....it's going to be gash city.... Sure Baylor can score but that's all they do. Boykin for tcu may literally account for 600+ yards of offense himself when tcu plays Baylor.

oklahoma is the best team in the big 12 right now with the best shot to go anywhere. Then tcu, then ok state and then Baylor. That's how I see the top four in that conference. If they can barely stop an all rushing attack against a very weak k state team then lord only knows how many points that defense is going to give up against the pokes,Sooners and frogs... Wouldn't be surprised to see them give up 50+ in every one of those games.

One of them will have to run the table to have a chance. If they all end up with 1 loss, they might be on outside looking in. I mean even OU has a chance if they run out, with one loss, although they'll need a lot more help from other teams dropping a game.

Last year Ohio State was #16 in the initial rankings, with one loss and moved all the way up. There are a LOT of match ups between teams in the top 20 so things will look a lot differently in a month than they do now.

As far as Baylor goes last night, while they didn't blow the doors off of K-State by any stretch, I still think it was a decent win, considering they were on the road vs. a decent team (albeit not as a decent as in year's past) and having a true Frosh at QB. But, they have some work to do to move up, no doubt.

Yeah, their D could do them in. Average defenses definitely get exposed more when their offense isn't putting up 60+ points every game.

The ONLY way OU has a ghost's chance in hell of getting in is if Texass runs the table. A loss against a sub .500 team isn't gonna fly, you heard all the yacking from the committee about wins against teams above .500.

Well, while that would help, that's definitely not the ONLY way. Texas wins 3 of 4 (with Baylor, WVU, KU, and TXTech) they are 6-6, exactly the same record VaTech was last year. It's obviously a long shot and many things must fall into place, but you can't dismiss it as a possibility. And let me be clear, I am NOT saying I think OU can/will do this, I'm just stating that things can (and likely will) be shaken up a lot from where they are now, as far as the rankings are concerned. Only 1 of the top 4 in last year's initial rankings made it (FSU).

LOL, just stating a fact.......I mean miracle, that must happen for that scenario. Obviously, OU would also have to run the table. Clemson wins tomorrow, which I believe they will, they're locked and loaded, wrap it. No clue what the committee will do if Bama beats LSU. And O. State has only themselves in the way, LOL.

Ou has found its stride after losing to Texas. Their defense is much improved as well as their oline. Baker Mayfield has became a great Qb and he has some great receivers to throw to (Sterling Shepard, Dede Westbrook, Durron Neal) As well as having 3 great running backs (Perine, Mixon, Ross) who all average well over 5 yards a carry. Mixon can go out in the flats and make catches too. Ou in my opinion is the best overall team in the Big 12 at the moment, followed by TCU and Baylor. TCU defense is getting better each week, and with all the playmakers they have on offense they can beat anyone. Baylor has no chance with their porous defense.

I hear ya, long shot for sure. One of the Big 5 (at least) will be left out, so could easily be the B12 winner, regardless of how many losses they have.

"OU has found its stride after losing to Texas." An on-going history my friend. Let me be clear, and GoSooners knows this, while I may have played for Vanderbilt, I'm a die-hard OU fan, since I was 10 years old. I lived in OKC/Tulsa for 28 years, can't count the times I sat in Memorial. GS and I bantered about this before the season began. OU has the best barn of running backs in the country, no discourtesy to Fournette, although in disclosure, I can't stand Les Miles, he was after all a coach for the Pokes. IF they hadn't phucked up the Cotton Bowl hoe-down, they'd be in the conversation. I'd bet good money they could beat any of the Top Four right now, on a neutral field.

Yeah Jack, what's funny is early on, it was the ACC that was gonna get left out. I live in ACC land now, so it's funny as hell reading all the rants here. NOW, the ACC is driving the bus, I don't see Florida State beating Clemson tomorrow, the Tigers are pissed off about last year's result, Watson being down. I know everyone seems to like those points, but personally, I'll probably tease it 6 points (and be mad later after they destroy them by 20+) with some other action and count my money. But the Big 12 is always gonna be the fish looking into the bowl until 1) they become 12 and 2) tourney game.

I have a future on Clemson to win it all (20-1) so pulling for them to keep that up. We'll see how this FSU QB does this week. Beating Cuse is one thing.......now Clemson.....that's a whole other beast. I hope you are right about the game.

Trust me, Watson has had this game circled since last year. Wichita, wow, haven't been there since Katrina hit Nawlins. Was up in Denver for a meeting and drove back the "unscenic" route. 70 to Salina and down from there, stopped in Wichita for dinner with some colleagues. Many miles and a lot of time since then. GL with your play, personally, I like it.

I've never been to Wichita...lol, and my name isn't Jack. It's from a Dead song. I live, and am from, the gloriously uninteresting suburbs of Chicago.

LOL, I didn't think your name was Jack and yep, I'm not from Muleshoe, TX, LOL. I have been to Muleshoe though. I know folks in Ithaca and Des Plains, I make it to Chicago at least once a year, so it's all good.
