Good guess, but not correct... Johnson had that great year when traded from Seattle to Houston winning 10 with the Astros....

Johnson won 9 with the Pilots..... errr the Mariners... 19 wins

i thought alexander did it back in the early 80's with the braves and tigers.

Doyle Alexander was lights out down the stretch for Detroit in 1987 going 9-0 after coming over from the Braves where he had been 5-10...Detroit was snake bitten in 1987, that was another very good Tigers team ...

Alexander had a very odd career, and finished with 197 wins which would surprise many...

He came up with the Orioles, never really caught on as a starter with the pitching rich Orioles of that era...also pitched with NY TEX ATL TOR back to ATL DET, his career was very up and down, much like his personality...never winning more than 17 but still winning that many games, surprising.... considering he was never a fulltime starter til his latter 20's.

correct, the other was before 1950 and not a household name....

I thought Alexander and Johnson were pretty solid guesses
