Whats up Rob? Barry has a shot to tie the record for hitting a homerun in 8 consecutive games tonight. Thus the thread. Enjoy.

that's a feat that takes talent. it belongs to guys who actually play each game helping their teams to winning pennant races and stuff like that. I will enjoy. strike out looking is a good start. i know for a fact he wont get the record. he has to actually participate in this game. . .you'll seeeeeeee

How can you not admire Bonds? I was under the impression you did like Bonds...

BTW - I once homered in 10 straight Wiffle Ball AB`s, it was a short porch to RF..

he stinks runs around like he's jeter or something. plays for a losing club everyone pays to see him and only him he cant even do an interview half the time. pinch hits days off and all that other stuff. im tired of the old man taking center stage for a crappy club acting like he is somebody playing on the junior circuit with all the sorry pitching. he ai'nt no man. he's been a free agent a few times stays in san fran to be a side show who picks his spots he aint great. i finnaly see it everyone's way on ruth now. ruth is a winner ruth got hits in the AL. ruth won titles ruth set records. ruth did interviews. ruth captivated. why praise some bonehead off in his own little world? griff stays helathy, no one even pays mind to this attention whore.

he won't tie the record just watch, you'll seeeeeeee

Staying in SF is admirable IMO...meaning he could have went elsewhere for more money, what the hell?? I`m here taking up for Barry Baseball lol?!

Rob, the 'junior circuit' is the American League

OH. . .I did have a no hitter in a 6 inning game once though we used a lawn chair as a strike zone. . it was controversial though becuase they said I threw a fast ball a few times and that was not allowed. . .I thought I just had a huge variety of pitches, I could really make a wiffle ball dance. I loved to imatate julio franco and hold the bat level to the ground when I batted even though that is god awful mechanics everyone knew who i was making fun of so it always got laughs. god wiffle ball, I walk the streets in my suburbs and hardly anyone plays anymore back in the 80's 90's it seemed like everyone and thier mom played.

bonds won't get it guys. this is a game he has to actaully play. he fields and stuff it'll throw him off. he'll be crying to eat bacon and eggs with sick gambler in montreal by the 6th inning

When I played wiffle ball Whitey Ford was on the box the balls came in.

PS. Jason Schmidt getting shelled - Padres up 7-0 still batting in the top of the 4th. Looks like BB will see some pitches in a blowout game. No sense walking him.

Bonds update: Mark Loretta hits a 3 shot HR that barely goes over the fence right over Bond's head without even trying for it that several other MLB players probably would have caught putting the Padres ahead 7-0. no, wait, bond's swinging a bat and absolutely nothing else in this contest is bigger than the game, will he make good contact with this one?

But I moved away from my old Wiffle Ball group lol...I played well into my late 20`s..

Shoot it may have been my best sport, I learned to switch hit when I was like 6 playing Wiffle Ball...

And Barry walks on 4 pitches..geesh they may as well pitched to him!

journey did you play with 'rubber' meaning if you whip it at somebody running a base they are out. I always hated the tag only games. I mean, it brought such an element to it, if you throw rubber and miss the guy advances and coming from 2nd or 3rd most likely scores. throwing rubber and leaving a welt on your best friend was always a great thing. even if he is your best friend you left him with a welt and beat him with the sorry kids you picked up to make your team.

LOL, I don`t know where we got the rule from, but at some point we started throwing it at the runner, and it could lead to bench clearing brawls! Reminds of the time I charged the mound haha...I was brushed back and just got drilled running the bases right before my AB...man they were the days!

Later though we played HomeRun Derby (in one on one gms) style rules where we didn`t run the bases....We had to field the ball cleanly for it to be an out, if the ball stopped rolling it was a single , on fly balls it had to either be caught or fielded cleanly on one bounce for it to be an out... if it hit the fence on the bounce it was a double, in the air a triple and over a homerun...it worked out well this way...man, I`m ready to play now Rob! The HomeRun Derby was more a one on one game...We would also play fast pitch this way...(no curves)

The other way we did allow all kinds of pitching.

Only thing I didn't like about whiffleball is the fvckin balls cracked too easy. We'd get a cracked ball, we'd say fvck it, let's play stickball. we'd play with a broomstick handle and a tennis ball out in the street.

There were usually 3 outcomes when you were batting: Pop-out, groundout or awesome home run.

And god forbid if you struck out, your buddies would rag you so bad, you wouldn't show for a few days. those were the days.
