Bank of America fraud alert

This is the e-mail that I received a couple of days ago.

It goes on to say that I need to follow their BankofAmerica link or my account will be shut down on Monday June 9.

I get on the account and you wouldn't believe the info that it is asking me for.

Full Social Security number, full Debit card number, CVV #

E-mail Address and E-mail Password (LOL)

I called Bank of America and changed my username and password.

They also asked me to forward this E-mail to them (abuse department) which I did

I figured I would post this and hopefully save somebody else a headache.

if this is a BAS prank it is harmless mikeb.

last time he got my account information he didnt' take any funds...he just changed my security image to a naked pic of himself and the key phrase to "sign up for a sponsor or else you see the next pic from this photo shoot"

I clicked on the link and they had all of the BofA site header. Whoever did this did a good job on the graphics. The only problems were that they asked too much info and down at the bottom where you can click on terms and conditions and Equal housing lender, there were no links.

This has been going on for Years. The sites are Mirror sites. Easy to copy the code on any site, just need to change a few things around.

Got a Citi bank one years ago, BOA I think I got last year.
Wife got one from TD bank earlier this year and she almost filled the info out.

One way to tell when it's a fake site, they use ' Dear Customer ' or Dear " fill in the email address " like Dear betallsports@therx.com

Bank Email's will address you by Name, could be Full name or Mr. so and so, sometimes will even use the last 3 or 4 digits of your account #

I thought I would share this is all.

I figured if it saved one person from some headaches than great. Even if it reminds one guy to tell his wife or kid to watch out for this stuff and it helps than it was worth it.
