Completely different sport and games played is different context. But hypothetically if pitchers pitched all 9 innings and overwhelmingly beat another in the regular season and then lost all 4 or more in the postseason....yesthat would mean something about that pitcher. I mean guys like Pedro Martinez, Roger Clemens, Greg Maddux, Kershaw and so on are great pitchers but its very important to note they were average or worse in the playoffs. And that means something for their careers
And the reason for it is that playoff teams have better hitters than the average teams. KC's teams have always been better than Buf. Just look at Allen's play in the playoffs.

Lots of guys like Bob Gibson. Sandy Koufax, John Smoltz, Curt Schilling , Orlando Hernandez and Mariano Rivera thrived

Do an honest position-by-position breakdown and it's not even close who the MVP is.

Without Josh Allen, the Bills aren't even a playoff team.

Half the roster looks like they were drafted off Craigslist. Brandon Beane CANNOT draft.

When the #1 pitcher faces the #1 from the other team, someone has to lose. The ERA's of the guys you previously mentioned had a very slight higher ERA in the playoffs.

Besides raw talent, the team system, coaching and the players who surround a QB is very important in a QB's success. Some teams and head coaches are horrendous. Some situations fit players better than others.

I posted this earlier in the thread but reposting because I’m thinking most football guys believe Baker is doing good only this year

Since joining joining Tampa Bay he is close to being atop all major passing category lists

Baker Mayfield

2023 Tampa: 4044 Passing Yards - 28 TD - 10 INT
2024 Tampa: 4500 Passing Yards - 41 TD - 16 INT
2025 Tampa Thru 6 Games: 1539 Passing Yards - 12 TD - 1 INT

Also, 3 Seasons - 3 Different Offensive Coordinators - Baker got the first two Head Coaching jobs in Carolina & Jacksonville - Now on his 3rd different one in 3 years

I'm thinking it's trending towards not being a fluke...

I saw a mock NFL draft today where Cleveland is picking the Oregon quarterback in the first round. Let's just hope that happens as it would be a great illustration of NFL ineptitude. Right now, we have Aaron Glenn as weekly comic relief.

Allen has reverted back to volatile style of play -- which I think gives them a little higher of a ceiling

Mayfield has been better today

Josh Allen has 6 TDs today.
3 rushing 3 passing.
This is his 2nd time in his career doing so.
Not a single other QB in NFL history has just 1 of these games.
