Avoiding a scam at the Grocery store this morning...

So im up early getting provisions for the weekend and as I return to car a guy gives me the

"I ran out of gas and need a buck or 2" story.

Now normally I just say I dont have cash, which I didnt have any this morning
BUT
since he sounded sincere, I figured I would help the brother out

Told him we can go to the gas station a block away and Ill buy him a gallon to get back home, but I have to put it on my CC.....then asked "Where are you parked?"

He gave me some nonsense answer and went on to the next person in the lot......the MOFO didnt even have a car...lol
No matter how sincere the person sounds they are a virtual lock to be scamming.

I had the "I need money for the bus" guy a week ago.
Said he needed 7 dollars for the bus.
That is what it cost he said .
I literally laughed and said GTFOH

One time a guy asked for money after showing me a scar...lol, the way he lifted his shirt got my heart racing as I thought he might pull out a gun.

I told him all I had was this LARGE collection of pennies in my car...at least 200 of them and he could have them all.

MOFO didnt want it.......If a beggar doesnt want pennies he cant be that hard up.

I know this black dude ..... His name is Robert also , met this dude when I was in Rock Island County jail
At the time he was filing Million Dollar lawsuits against the city from our cell-block

Anyway , we both eventually get out & I see him from time to time in either Downtown Rock Island or Downtown Davenport ...... ALWAYS asking for money , dude could have a Million Dollars on him & he'd still ask u for Money it's crazy

He's always got some Hard-Luck story to tell u too .

I used to give him a few bucks here & there until I realized he was full of shit .
& When u did give him Money it was never enough ..... He'd ask for a little bit more

It got to be too much & I finally told his Ass one day ... . " Look dude , whenever u see me from now on just keep walking o.k ...... Don't want u begging me for Cash & I don't want to hear any more of your Hard-Luck stories

I am mean , he's the type of guy who will take your last dollar

& Don't even think of asking his Ass for a few bucks

So, I got two this week. Filling gas, mexi cartel no English dude approaches me quickly in full amazon outfit , I get ready to punch , he goes no no no look my telephone, translation says credit card declined need cash, look over has Amazon nice new van, quickly said no cash he said ok, felt guilty did not help but thought dude should call his Amazon supervisor, dude speaks no English but gets Amazon job nice van , should have company card. Second scam got a bunch of hardcore nasty gypsy bitches using kids as sidekicks weaving in and out of heavy traffic at major intersections begging knocking on windows, almost pissed myself when she knocked thought carjack broad daylight for a moment, see out of corner my eye, second team of Gypsy mom daughter walking from forest preserve parking lot, getting out of a nice Toyota mini van.

Use to give this guy change that was at an off ramp off interstate, one cold day I’m coming down the ramp and see him just talking up a storm. Thought dude is more mentally off than before as he was talking to himself. Get closer and see he has earbuds in and a cell phone in his pocket. Rolled my window up and never gave him change again. Ya got earbuds and a cell phone your doing better than most.

Many , Many years ago when I was an ignorant young buck lib who thought he was better than everybody else just because he
made a few bucks

I used to toss handful of pennies out the window when I saw a beggar during a stop light....not because I wanted to help him, but because it was entertaining to watch someone scramble to collect them all.

The reason I tell this story is because that is LITERALLY a microcosm of how LIBS in power think.
No respect for human beings, they like to watch people scramble and do their bidding for meager handouts.
