Nope, they aren't a running dog. FSU giving up just 3.1 ypc on D, and Auburn's run defense is terrible. FSU has two NFL caliber RB's, and they rush for over 200 ypg themselves. There's a decent chance that they could outrush Auburn in this game.

Just because a team rushes for more yards per game doesn't make them a running dog. But it's becoming more obvious that FSU's weaker level of competition has helped them get the good numbers. Right now they are being taken to the woodshed. And getting badly outcoached.

Calling a running dog or not I guess. The only other element is a better D....but not going as far as saying Auburn has that.

The PRD (probable running dog) is the underdog team that you feel will outrush their favored opponent. But more goes into it than simply having better rushing stats. If the other team has a great rush defense against good rushing teams (a strong SOS), it negates the potential rushing advantage. In other words a team like Michigan State who gives up just 83 ypg rushing is very seldom going to face a running dog if they are favored. They are simply too good on defense against the run. In fact looking at this game I believe Sparty would have made a much better opponent for Auburn in this game than FSU. They have a shut down defense and better defensive coaching, FSU doesn't.
