ATTENTION ZAPSTER & IGETP2S.........

OK guys, here is what has been decided....

There was a problem getting the lines posted for Monday, due to my computer problems....

I feel bad for Igetp2s, because he did not see lines and post his play, and I feel bad for Zapster, because he is in this to win, and doesnt want to win by default, but he wants the rules to be upheld, knowing that Igetp2s could have posted his play based on the common line....

So here is what I am going to do........

And before I state this decision, I will say here, that I hope for a little cooperation and understanding from the parties....I work very hard on these contests, and this was not a case of me making a mistake, or screwing up, I couldnt get online.....And with ALL THE WORK i do to bring free contest money here to everyone, I would hope I get support in my decision..

I am doing what I feel to be the most fair, and am exercising my option as the contest organizer to settle this situation..

I did ask Zapster if it was OK to let his opponent off the hook for the no play, and understandably he didnt want to make the call.....I have no problem with that....Would have been alot easier for me, had he said, sure it ok, but he is in this to win, just like everyone else....So seeing that I am no longer in the contest, this decision cannot be construed as having any advantage to me at all....

Igetp2s WILL NOT be penalized for missing his play on Monday, due to no lines being posted......He will basically be given a "second chance" due to computer problems I had....

However, since Igetp2s is getting a "second chance", I am also awarding a "second chance" to his opponent, to be fair......Zapster will have a "get out of jail free card" to use at his will, IN THIS ROUND ONLY......He can choose to use it if he misses a play, or if he loses a play, he can exercise his option, and the LOST PLAY will not count.........

This is as fair as I can be......

Igetp2s does not lose one of his chances due to the missing of the play, and his opponent gets the same advantage that Igetp2s gets......

*** FROM HERE ON OUT, IF FOR SOME TECHNICAL REASON I CANNOT POST LINES, OR THEY ARE NOT UP IN TIME, YOU WILL NEED TO POST YOUR PLAY BASED ON THE COMMON LINE U SEE, OR YOU WILL RECIEVE A LOSS FOR THE PLAY...

I DON'T FORSEE THIS HAPPENING, BUT THEN AGAIN, I DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS GONNA HAPPEN THIS TIME....

Bucs........

This is one of the better contests on Rx and I 100% appreciate your efforts. I'm sure we all do. The last thing I would ever want to do is complicate things.

I apologize for not making your job easier in the current matter. You did state my position very fairly.....I am playing to win and want the rules abided by....and at the same time I don't want to win by default, especially where there are mitigating circumstances.

The ruling you give above swings perhaps a bit more in my favor than it needs to. Having given it some thought I would suggest that my "get out of jail free card" not be at my disposal for the entire round, but instead apply to one specific game, to be determined in advance of the game by you, and/or agreed to betweeen myself and IGet. So in other words I don't simply get a "do-over" next time I lose. I get one if and only if I lose the specific game that is designated.

Hopefully this is something we can all be comfortable with (?)

Zapster has graciously agreed to enable us to get this over with, and since this happened on Igets play last night, that he will simply use the second chance tonight if needed..

If he loses tonight, his play will not count...he will get another shot..

if his play wins tonight, then all is well, and we are back to normal, and Igetp2s IS NOT given a loss for yesterday..

Thanks for helping resolve this minor aggravation guys...

Sorry Bucsfan and Zapster for not seeing this thread sooner. I appreciate both of your efforts to be as accomodating as possible. I understand both of your positions, and appreciate Zapster for making the decision as fair as possible.

Regarding Bucsfans decision regarding what to do from here on out, I think can lead to just as many problems. What happens when books have different lines for a game? Usually there is at lease a half point difference that can be found. Also there might be the issue of line moves. What happens if I post a line, and later on you post a different line? Which one do we go by?

I know this sounds like splitting hairs, but in this round alone out of 7 games, 1 pushed and 2 others fell 1 point from the line. So the exact line that we're using is extremely important.

I think the simplest solution would be that if you can't post the lines for whatever reason at least by the early afternoon, then all plays should be no action. What do you think?

I THINK I DO A PRETTY DAMN GOOD JOB OF KEEPING UP WITH ALL THESE CONTESTS

And making sure the lines are always up.....I am sorry my computer went down one night

If the line being off by 1/2 point is going to change which side you take then i really dont know what to tell you.....

I didnt ask that you post a line, i said make your play based on the lines that you see, and you can feel pretty comfortable that would be the line that gets posted.....THIS HAPPENED ONE TIME....

Bucsfan, calm down.

I am not complaining about your computer problems. It happens to everyone. I appreciate your work on these contests, I can't even imagine how much time you spend setting them up, posting the lines, and scoring.

I only voiced some concerns about what we should do in the future if the problem happens again. I think they are valid, and as I said I have already had 3 games out of 7 in which the game fell within a point of the spread you used.

And yes, a half point here or there does make a world of difference in my betting. There's no shame in admitting that at all.

If the problems I raised don't concern you, that's fine. It was just constructive criticism and wasn't meant as anything more than that.
