When you post a pick please use numbers that are widely available at the time of you're post. WA or widely available lines make it easy for everyone to use the play. I have recieved several E-mails asking me to make an announcement. Remember this is not a popularity contest but a handicapping forum - lets make it as easy as possible for everyone to participate. If you use free half point outs simply state so. Laying -6 at 7AM then posting a pick at -6 when it is up to -7 or 7.5 by 4PM helps no one. Remember post the number that is widely available for all at the time of you're post.

Thanks, and best of luck, wil.

then they will say i got this number at one minute after midnight just before the...well you can fill in the blank cause nobody here should have to take responsibility for a line change when they post...to many times have i read post where it goes something like 3-1 yesterday...no you were 2-2 cause the line was -7.5...noway...i got down at -7 just before the clock struck twelve...are you then asking the poster to handicap the "post time" line as well...better to make them state the line and time of wager with the wa...jmo...

Natrually. Example I like the Jazz (Example) at -6 for 1 unit for whatever reasons. The time of the post is automatically recorded. If the game moves to 7 or 8 then unless a capper says to play it 6, 7, 8 or any other number, the play in my mind is not a play at the higher numbers. Common sense tells us the Jazz offer more value at -6 then -7. For your records sake the minus 6 is fine but unless it was WA then you are just keeping your own records at your own numbers. The bottom line is when you post a play just take a look at the live lines and see what is widely available and use that number. How hard is it to use a number that is WA?

What I started doing today in my totals thread is posting my calculated total and I have a guide posted for how many units to wager depending on the difference between my number and the actual line.

I think that covers this for me.........no pun intended :)

I post my plays around 6ish or later anyway and the line I use is pretty much what it goes off at, BUT people have asked me to post earlier in the day on other sites, which of course means, if I start posting here around 4 EST, I am posting the line I just bet the game at...I always make my bet first, then immediately post my play...

Now if I start posting around 4 pm, I honestly do NOT want to hear from anyone about a 1/2-point or 1 point or even a 1.5-point line move between 6 and 7 pm...

My opinion is:

If you aren't smart enough to determine whether a half-point to 1.5-point line move majorly effects the value of that play, then you shouldn't be gambling...95% of the time, these line movements have ZERO effect on whether you win or lose the bet, and I am being conservative with that number, IMO...It is also my opinion that people who buy hooks constantly are amateurs, because the juice you lose buying those things over the longhaul will far outweigh the 2 or 3 times the entire season where "buying the hook" actually helped you, but that's another topic for another time...
